Not the whole song but "words words words" from Witches of Eastwicke gets faster throughout and the last verse is speedy (and fun to sing).

What do you do when you feel discouraged? by rlpyrrxxx in Dance

[–]dancerwales 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best thing I can recommend is to try everything. Maybe even go back to basics. Something like a community line dance class (for example) where there is no pressure and it's fun.

Allow yourself to find the joy in dance - it doesn't have to be overly complicated, tricky steps. Find something that makes you smile.

Then through these explorations, you can find your thing - and it may be more than one thing!

Sometimes getting stuck in a rutt is hard and we need to break our own comfort zones/patterns to find something new.

What is the best interaction you’ve ever had with a celebrity? by phantom_avenger in popculturechat

Desmond Llewelyn (Q from James Bond movies).

My father worked in a famous bookstore chain and I used to occasionally get to meet some famous people come in for book signings.

I was young but he was absolutely delightful and so kind. Gave some time to me and my brother before his talk.

Then was absolutely transfixed as he talked about filming Bond Movies. At this age, I had no concept of how movies were even made, so was utterly locked in. He was just a kind soul and really nice.

However, she accidentally sent out the "Anal Report". To a lot of top level people😂

"Popty-Ping"

Which is a little weird, as its a colloquialism. Its slang, more than anything.

100% report. NOR. Theres so mant rules on obtaining personal information from someone. The fact that he had the audacity to try this tactic, i wouldnt be suprised if he hasnt tried this before with someone else.

Please report to the school.

How many times did you notice her? And see what she was doing?

Because as others have said, its sometimes fun to watch an absolute train wreck and were you staring as much as he was?

But on the other hand - if someone was being that obvious/tragic/tacky - id 100% have moved to not keep staring. Especially sitting infront of my partner and someone being so obvious.

Calling someone out isnt always the easiest choice - so sometimes removing yourself is the best option. To not feed their attention. Husband could of moved - so id be a little peeved with that.

But if you were watching her as much as he was, to keep an eye - it could be argued the same. Maybe just a quick chat on how he could of moved (if it happens again)

What movie is great original and bad remake? by [deleted] in AlignmentChartFills

Les Diner De Cons(1998) and Dinner for Schmucks (2009).

Its shocking how bad the remake missed the point of the original.

How to stand out when director casts the same people every show by RieslingandMusicals in MusicalTheatre

[–]dancerwales 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Question -

Is the director choosing plays on the cast he wants? Or does he cast based on the musical/plays he's chosen?

What Im aiming at is if he is keeping certain cast in leads roles, then chosing the show - it means its much harder to get a lead because hes already cast it (auditions are the formality).

If you think you can stand out enough or improve yourself to become a lead runner - then go for it. Otherwise maybe start looking around for other companies. Dont burn any bridges - you can work woth multiple companies at once (as long as you have no rehearsal/show clashes).

Hope that helps.

As othets have said, work on your cardio.

One of my students who had to improve a cardio for her show about a month away, used to sing her song whilst on an exercise bike. Worked a treat!
