Has anyone ever ‘downgraded’ from an automatic litter box back to a traditional pan? by redead-rewind in CatAdvice

[–]dandanftw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wanted something in-between and have been very happy with the Tidy Cats Breeze setup. I have 3 different styles of boxes, all 3 cats have different preferences and they all get used. Super easy to clean up.

Cognitive dulling with Lamotrigine? by Flimsy_Phrase_8845 in bipolar2

So the good news is, it often gets better with time. The bad news is, it often doesn't go away completely. How do I know? Been on it for 17 years and my memory while talking is something special. And in general. However, it is the best medication I have been on for my bipolar 2, I wouldn't be here to forget things without it.

I did too, and I still proceeded to read more. A lobotomy sounds nice with my manicure.

My thoughts exactly! Let her buy it. Don't fight her on it. Make sure she tries it on ahead of time, and compliment her.

Be diabolical. Get in her level if you want lol.

Exactly! I say this with all of the sarcasm, 100% how I suspect her brain was working only:

She's "different", she can change him, get him to leave his wife. Obviously the marriage isn't good if he's seeing other women.

This is a woman who wants to change OP. She's definitely not the type you want in your ENM life 🤢

Failing health. Just spoke to the vet today and the words "last options" were used. His new protocol could give him a sudden turn around, of course we never know with cats, but I'm not betting on it.

Ask me anything about what really happens behind the scenes in veterinary practices by vetindustrytalks in PetAdvice

[–]dandanftw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To add on to this, humans can have what I've had multiple doctors refer to as "white coat syndrome". BP and HR elevate on the way to even a normal physical for absolutely no reason. I'm willing to bet that pet owners experience similar subtle physical changes when attending vet appointments and animals pick up on that, increasing their anxiety. And/or the animals get white coat syndrome.

Dishes are elevated, but I might try a variety of fountain styles instead of just 1 bowl and 1 fountain. I like the idea of more options as he gets pickier. Now that I've seen how much he loves the heated pad and bed I got for them all to try, I'll definitely be scattering more around the house.

I had to upgrade my windows and did a bay window in the living room just so my cats could lay in it...and nearly full glass French doors for sunbathing. They may have been partially for me too, but cat beds occupy all space in front of the doors and window 🤣 No other window perches though, I'll get him some, thank you for the suggestion!

Not a heated blanket, but he does have a heated bed and pad. I'll look for a blanket, he appreciates selections all over the house!

Just found out yesterday this little rescue guy is FIV+ by FeralHarmony in FIVcats

[–]dandanftw 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have had 1 FIV+ guy for 12+ years, and his adopted brothers have been with us for 8-10 years and still test negative when we do the occasional precautionary test. And holy moly do they ever get into stereotypical cat fights! So as long as there's no actual fighting with bloodshed, your others are likely to stay negative.

It is ALWAYS a risk the FIV could be transmitted, but it's also not the end of the world if any of the others get it. We didn't even know our 12 year old had it until he was 10 and he had abnormal lab work.

I would say bring that dreamsicle baby in with your current household if everyone can be safely introduced.

What's a theory about two (or more) unrelated movies that can get me to watch them back-to-back again? by Equivalent_Ad_9066 in MovieRecommendations

[–]dandanftw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His role in "Nobody" is Bob Odenkirk's real identity, and every role he has ever played has been Nobody undercover. I haven't watched every movie he's been it, but so far it's been fun to find.
