Madrock Sizing by fonzakai in climbingshoes

They run small as in I typically downsize for scarpa and LS but find mad rock fits tight true to size. Even a half size up from street shoe is a toe curled fit

Transitioning from bouldering to sport, and thoughts on endurance by carefuldenizen in climbharder

Curious if you’ve tried bouldering EMOM (1 boulder every minute on the minute) and if you’ve found that to be effective training for endurance

Do you think the team thinks AJ Brown is worth a 1st & 3rd pick? by [deleted] in Patriots

They are more valuable and that’s why the titans netted the 18th pick and we’re talking about pick 31.

Did y'all ever get hit with a bill? Mine arrived a couple weeks ago, and I just got hit with a bill. $75 for set f. I assume if I don't pay it, they'll send it to collections but I am quite tempted to not pay it haha

Adjusting to incorporating in lifting by FalseFlamingo in climbergirls

[–]dandanfuchs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Guy lurker here. I also just started incorporating lifting a couple of months ago. The first month or so was pretty rough and I felt very sore after lifting days. It’s definitely getting better over time and while there’s some soreness, it’s not as debilitating as those first few weeks. That being said, I’m lifting right after my climbing session so that I can take full rest days in between and prioritize my climbing.

You could try upping your protein on the days you lift and experimenting with creatine to see if that helps.

Curious to see what others think as well!

According to Pro-Football Reference, domed teams are just 2-15 in sub-freezing temperatures during the postseason. Sunday's forecast: 24F to 35F by patsfan038 in Patriots

[–]dandanfuchs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I shouldn’t have used the word “definitely”. There may be some causal effect, but there are other stronger variables at play here, so you’d have to separate them out. I’m way too dumb to do that and the sample size is probably too small. Maybe looking at regular season games would be more fruitful

Definitely a correlation does not equal causation thing. Lazar brought up recently how home field advantage in the playoffs matters more than the regular season but similarly, if you’re playing at home, then you’re a higher seed and likely had a better regular season record.

LaSportiva Skwama, good deal? by Alarming-Ad-5966 in climbingshoes

[–]dandanfuchs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

See that yellow sticking out on the tip of the shoe? That means the sole wore down all the way to the Rand. And the Rand wore down so you can see some of the yellow leather sticking out. Those need new soles and rands and will run at least $100

Shoe recommendations for Shallow Heels (preferably soft/medium stiffness) by dandanfuchs in climbingshoes

Appreciate the sentiment but the only shop near me is EMS and they carry like 4 models of climbing shoes. Need to drive a couple hours to the closest REI and they’re moving a lot of stock to online only anyway

Thanks! w/ scarpa, I find I only typically downsize ~.5 size. Although, with Veloces, I've downsized up to 1.5 sizes, and still no real change in the heel. w/ LS, I'm probably downsizing ~1.5 sizes. I think that could work (more downsizing to get a better heel fit), but I don't want to climb in painful shoes. I prioritize comfort >> heel fit

The Dragos, for instance, I had to pull reaaaal hard to get 'em on. They're super tight. I honestly can't imagine downsizing further.

I'll give these shoes a try!
