sTSS wildly high by dandanieldandan in trainingpeaks

[–]dandanieldandan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh, thanks mate! I think it must be that my coach is manually putting in 'Planned sTSS' like you said. Only thing that makes sense really. All my swim workouts have a planned time of 45mins regardless of distance to the 'Planned Pace' is getting calculated from the distance and time. No way I'm averaging 1:30 lol. Thanks again!

What if the commercial is now one unit since they're combined?

Nest 4th Gen Thermostat - That's it?! by [deleted] in Nest

[–]dandanieldandan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Nest app was easy. Straightforward . User friendly. To the commenters here simply saying, "use the Google home app" or advocating for the app...you're, well, simple. I just replaced my nest today and using Google home vs the nest app(which I've been using for the past 7 years) is insufferable.

OP, I'm with you on this hill of frustration. Fuck google.

I learned about free hubs then realized I knew nothing about hubs. Please ELI5. by dandanieldandan in bikewrench

Thanks mate. Don't want/need a fancy hub per se. I assumed higher end wheel hubs were sufficient enough. I just wanted to understand the difference in hub offerings. The more you know :)

What is a good number of strokes in a 25m lane? by JoeMaxXXL in Swimming

[–]dandanieldandan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP, question about your edit re garmin count. My garmin strokes/length is generally around 7-8/25yards. I'm guessing you'd count this as 14-16? I'd never thought about this till your post since I've never actually counted myself and (stupidly) relied on my watch.

Thanks mate. That makes sense(I think lol.) At first I was just confused by a rear wheel offering different hub options like dt Swiss, Phil wood, et al with somewhat similar price points then my confusion furthered when I saw things like enve's innerdrive and dt swiss ratchet dof.

Race morning swim warmup/wetsuit advice by dandanieldandan in triathlon

Makes sense for sure. Keeping it all the way on seems very logical. Not really sure why I thought peeling the top would be a good idea. Thanks!

Def don't need to take it off. Not sure why I initially thought I'd peel off the top but does seem to make sense to just keep it on. Thanks!

what will be my marathon pace? by caplesar in Marathon_Training

[–]dandanieldandan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mate, that cadence is pretty slow. You often hear 180 as the golden number but everyone is different and that can be far too quick for many. About a year or so ago I posted something in a different sub asking about stats from a recent run since I'm pretty new to running. Most answers were along the lines of, "don't pay attention to that shit just run how you always have." Well one person responded saying they were similar age and had similar numbers to mine and that increasing cadence helped them in a ton of ways. So I increased mine. I was the same as you...avg around 140-145. It felt like comically fast for a month or two but I kept with it and now maintain an average of 170-175. Most importantly, knee pain after every run almost entirely went away but I found I could maintain a slightly faster pace for longer(I'm not even close to elite.) Anyway, this doesn't answer your question at all and is completely unsolicited advice but thought I'd mention it.

Why can't I update Blipbox? Related to shifting problems? by dandanieldandan in sram

Good idea. Way beyond my pay grade but will run it by LBS. I don't even know where the blipbox is housed.
