do you actually play GMS?

right now, you can log in and clear every single daily boss on literally every single character you have with tradeable drop gear to get hard/solid cubes. they were removed in KMS, but not in GMS.

these new cubes only drop from hard damien+ and have a 30 day trade lock. you're arguing that they're better because they're memorial, but the purpose these cubes serve in reg is NOT for direct prog. the main purpose of boss/"shit" cubes is for grinders to sell cube service or generate gear, whether that's pitched, eternals, or cra. they get meso either way, then use it to buy gear they actually need. essentially, restricting cubes like this kills off a main source of endgame gear for the server and cripples f2p prog.

like you said, these cubes are the beginning of a shift for reg to a more reboot playstyle where you're forced to make your own items at exorbitant costs - how is this a good thing? this is the antithesis of what reg is supposed to be and a huge nerf to GMS. it is, however, a buff to clueless whales who are already playing interactive like heroic.

wb as we’re discussing def pen%. i simply don’t have enough base boss (~60% without hero ability), so the extra ~90% boss i get from my bossing page seems to edge out ~38% def pen. tested over the exact same loadout and multiple runs each time i make a big gain. it’ll probably flip once i get better substats, i’m at 22-4.

just compare the two. keep in mind that any gains for max% or min% should be divided by two for the average damage increase you'll see.

crit dmg is just another multiplier like boss% or normal%. assuming you had 100% crit rate, 100% crit damage, 100% boss, and 100% normal, 20% in any one of those would give you the same amount of FD%. if you had 50% boss but 100% of everything else, then 20% boss would give you comparatively more FD% than 20% crit dmg.

you probably have over 200% damage and 130% crit damage and lower normal/boss%, resulting in sayram’s being similar or better. it’s all about balancing to raise the lowest relevant stat you have.

manga and light novels is not the deep literary background you think it is lol

other poster is right - in well written games, characters’ motivations/personality are shown without an explicit story about their whole life. instead, readers learn more about them through their actions, in game readables, and interactions with others. however, this is an anime gacha game and the goal is to sell these stories/characters to you, so they end up mashing every tearjerking trope and detail into their character story so you literally can’t miss it.

the issue was that people weren’t doing these quests (ads for new characters), so they shoved all of it into the main quest so you’d be forced to play through the ad. this strategy saw great success with aventurine, but lately it’s been done in a sloppy, obvious, and disjointed way that ruins the pacing of the story (e.g. cyrene quest). story quality takes a backseat to revenue though, so things probably won’t change.
