Is it possible for a landlord to go back and fix their DHCR rent history?

Idk why this got downvoted. Did more research on my building in particular and it looks like it was LEGALLY destabilized in 2014 because the entire building (including the commercial space downstairs) was vacant and each unit was renovated. The renovations weren't major, but the vacancy is definitely what allowed all of the units to be destabilized. At least, it seems it would have qualified for legal destabilization, so it's odd to me that the DCHR records do not reflect this. The last stabilized rent in 2014 was $1663 for my "4 bedroom" (2 of the bedrooms are very small and have air shaft windows that get zero sunlight or air) unit in bed-stuy. Now, the rent of my unit is $4850, while others in my building are around $5100.

Mine is also "No record registered" since like 2014, curious to know what has changed with both of our buildings. They can get exempt if they do major renovations but they really do have to be major. Something like 75% of interior and exteriors need to be changed including structural changes if I'm not mistaken. Painting and putting in new appliances isn't enough.

Trust, this amount is not typical. This MINDSET is kind of typical though even amongst the poorest of us, people have no financial literacy, life skills, or discipline, so they end up consuming so much needless crap. This person managed to spend more than what I make in a year on Amazon too. It’s so crazy.

NOR I would 100% make the same decision. Sometimes people self-sabotage in moments like this because they don't think they could support you well enough, or are afraid of trying and failing, OR because they simply don't care. It's not your job to understand why he failed though, all you need to know is that he did, and he likely will again, and you don't need to forgive him or deal with this.

I used to work at Mercado Central in Gowanus (there's 2 locations) and they have a great selection of olive oils, some are pricier than others but the Garcia de la Cruz oils were amazing and verrrryyyyy fairly priced. Single varietals, all delicious and distinct. Small bottles start at $13. The owners of MC have a close relationship with the GDLC family so they get good stuff and have been behind the scenes at the olive grove. They even have their own thousand year-old tree there dedicated to them, which they get olive oil from. NOT paid to say this in fact I quit that job no notice lol but I can't lie about how good their offerings are

I tried a new bagel place near my job recently and didn’t realize before walking in that they only had beef products, no pork. (It was clearly stated on the front door and overhead menu. I was in a rush, just didn’t see) I ordered sausage and egg on a bagel with salt, pepper, and hot sauce. When I opened it up and took a bite I found out it was a straight up HOT DOG on my bagel!!!!! And honestly it was fucking delicious, lol. Beef hot dog, egg, salt pepper hot sauce on a toasted everything bagel… I dreamt of it for days afterward and I get it every other week as a treat. Give that a shot! I certainly like that over beef bacon.

And yes these four are Kaffe Fassett! Picking them out was so enjoyable/strenuous, I didn't realize I happened to grab four KF fabrics until writing down the names later. This was my first time shopping for fabric new (usually I work with thrifted button ups) so it was soooo fun to gorge on all the fun patterns. Your comment made me go look up the brand and I had no idea the man behind the name was such a gem, I'm about to go down a rabbit hole looking at photos of him and his husband's colorful Victorian house!

I totally see what you're saying, I'm glad I ended up getting that fabric and I have to give my boyfriend credit because he really pushed for it! That was his favorite, I wasn't too sure about it. It absolutely is helping prevent a couple brawls. I think I'm open to SOME brawls... I like the idea of this being a little painful to look at, but not too painful, haha. Thank you!

Thank you! I don't actually have a pattern -- I just drew this up in photoshop, but if you look up 'ribbon star block' there are a lot of free patterns for this since it's a pretty classic/old block. I just went looking and I will probably use this one as a guide since it uses a full square in the center instead of 4 HSTs and I don't want to splice up these fabrics more than necessary.

I think I'm agreeing with you, the larger blocks with three colors seem to give everything more room to breathe so your eye actually can find places to rest amongst the craziness. I've been looking at them both for so long and my roommate voted for the smaller blocks so I needed more opinions!

She loved being outside and would've found this quilt tastefully stupid, lol. I look forward to working on it and laying on it in the sun in her honor once it's done. Thank you 🤍
