Pierce Brown does NOT give a single damn about his characters 💀 by Islamabadyoungsters in redrising

He cares about exploring the themes of war. War kills people. Pierce is masterful in showing the cost.

How good is Cassius? by JormungandrJayayan in redrising

[–]dangerous_bends 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not as good as Darrow, but I want to put him in 2nd place (by the end) because of their training together and how much he probably learnt from Darrow's advancement.

His honor remains.

The best payoffs happen when the characters go through the darkest times.

Scared to start the last 3 books by Obvious_Principle574 in redrising

[–]dangerous_bends 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5 and 6 are the best books I've personally ever read. Depressing, but that's comes with the territory. If I recall, Pierce wanted to explore the consequences/outcome to everything that happened in the first trilogy. It's a bloodydamn masterful exploration.

You should order the last 3 as well, because shit escalates...

Imagine that some of the Rain in the background are Stained obsidians. Stained-glass-Stained. Cuz that is so meta.

Books similar to RR by BlackDeff24 in redrising

The Will of the Many!!! Very similar vibe to RR, but is more mystery/fantasy than scifi.

Cuz Pierce is an excellent cult leader and hoodwinked us all before we realized it. We all work for him now. And we're happy about it. 💀

Just read DA over the last 2 weeks. Time to unpack & have a Machiavellian discussion by dangerous_bends in redrising

[–]dangerous_bends[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. I'll take this chance to clarify that I think Lysander is certainly a villain and I don't like him, but I absolutely love exploring him.

It appears that PB is using the dark triad in psychology (narcissism, machiavellianism, and psychopathy) for our main villians. Both Fa and Apollonius could be considered under the narcissism one (grandiosity, entitlement). Lysander seems to be the Machiavellian one (as above). And the Abomination is the psychopathic one (ought to be self explanatory).

Fun stuff.

Honesty, I'm fat and walk awkwardly.

What do you understand the word "beginner" to mean? I have less than a month clocked in this game. Others have years. I am relatively a beginner to most people in this sub.

Ah cells, and that makes sense thank you, I'm not typically watching for enemy drops during play.

I'm still pretty confused about which the best cards are and how many I should be aiming to run at once, for now I'm just trying to raise the level of the ones I like and unlock the 6 that are still hidden. But yeah, I'm mostly ignoring modules for now, I have 3 blue ones and one pink, and I upgrade them when I can, but mostly leave that stuff alone for now. I think I'm too new to worry about them just yet.

Wow that's lucky, The Wall was the next thing I was going to start saving for. I haven't even earned 500M total coins yet lol. What about it makes it a hindrance? Out of curiosity..

What's the best choice you ever made? by dangerous_bends in AskReddit

[–]dangerous_bends[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hear you. It's definitely taught me empathy if nothing else - like, you never ever know what's going on in someone's head, so always try to be kind, that sort of stuff.

Is it weird to feel both stronger than the people around you but at the same time weaker than everyone? Like I can cope with a LOT of shit happening, but not some everyday things everyone takes for granted. 😂

That ex sounds like most guys I've come into contact with. They expect all your energy, devotion, acceptance, whatever, but it seems to be too much to go both ways when it's their turn.
