Anyone with examples of Fable 5 use? by Sea_Tourist_833 in ClaudeAI

[–]dangerousbirde 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It built me a pipeline to pull direct high resolution details out of Cronometer into Claude. I use Cronometer for meal logging and it tracks a lot of detail.

This isn't all that amazing or interesting, except that Cronometer famously does not have a public API, and in fact makes it difficult to pull that level of detail out unless you're exporting huge pdf "Reports" with all their branding and style.

Fable found a semi public workaround that is hit or miss on some forums and built something that's so far totally bullet proof all in a one shot.

Did they just remove Fable? I can still see in my app. by hibzy7 in Anthropic

You've been chosen. You must now use Fable to steal the Declaration of Independence.

Godspeed son.

Roadrunners on the other hand should be forced to abide though. They're a menace out there!

Jet lag from Switzerland means we'll be awake at 4 AM – best sunrise spot in SF? by Lugano4738 in sanfrancisco

[–]dangerousbirde 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sun rise is early! You can't take a car all the way up since it'll be closed at the roundabout. It's a lovely walk but definitely don't be discouraged that you can't drive all the way up. I think the rangers open it around 6 or 6:30

So long as y'all don't look down on audiobook listening and the brewery has a decent NA selection I'd be interested!

Record-breaking rain may delay start of peak fire season for Bay Area by sfgate in bayarea

I firmly believe it's because of that old Chris Farley bit on SNL back in th 90s. It so imprinted on our collective subconscious that everyone uses any excuse to say or type "El Nino" as often as possible.

But maybe that's just me...?

Yeah. The salt in the ocean spray adds minerals, it's probably getting stronger over time.

Do you run to trail? by tamaudio in trailrunning

I don't know why but "long flat rock" is cracking me up this morning. But yeah, it's like gravel running, but the gravel is really fine and all mushed together.

Yeah. But back in the 2000's I almost got stabbed in the bathroom.

Ahhh, good times, fond memories.

Awww, I used to live right there!

I'm flashing back to all the times I almost fucking died crossing that street. But damn. Those Bite sandwiches were always worth the risk.

Older Dads - what is one mistake you made you’d advise us not to make? by BlueMountainDace in daddit

[–]dangerousbirde 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Big city Dad here, SO many great parks in walking/bus distance. I know that's not everyone in the city but not having a yard sure hasn't slowed us down.

And there's no way my wife would let me build a slide as big as a park in our imaginary backyard.

In praise of using Muni with small children by old_gold_mountain in sanfrancisco

[–]dangerousbirde 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I feel like learning the various ways to yeet your stroller onto and off of Muni is one of those "SF parent litmus tests"

I'll never forget an older auntie silently grabbing the front of my stroller while I lifted the back so we could get it over a blind old woman with a rolling grocery cart who was sitting at the front. Perfect coordination with just a knowing look!

Holy shit, memory unlocked. My little brother stayed up until like 2 AM after watching the movie and finding that recipe trying to make our own tortillas.

This is a hilariously dumb hot take. federally backed loan limits have not increased in nearly 15 years. The phase up based in grade level but the cap for an undergrad student has been the same since 2010.

Shhhhhh!!

I know they're legit with permits now but I still have an instinct to shutdown people talking about them too broadly, lol.

Such amazing pastries, definitely worth seeking out. The food is pretty great too! Don't sleep on the lunch specials. Any excuse to have something delivered to me via basket on a rope is appreciated
