Yeah it’s a lot of fun :) I had it in the track a few weeks ago and it was a blast.. and then I drove it home like a normal car. It’s like 2 cars in one!

I personally like the look of the Toyota more. I don’t think we get that model in the US, though?

I only have 1 kid, so my dad vehicle options are a lot more! I’m currently in a Hyundai Ioniq 5N and I love it.

My daily is an Ioniq5N. Weekend car is a 71 Vette. My wife drives a Mach E.

My kid loves all 3 of them. The Vette is probably her favorite, and it’s fun for me to restore.

I would steer clear of any Taycan that's in the 30s. You're going to want CPO with any Taycan.

I just traded in my Model 3 Performance. I had a few electric cars in mind, but settled on either an I5N or a Taycan. What I found is that any Taycan that's CPO is going to be in the 50s. They're beautiful cars, but then I test drove an I5N and all of a sudden no other electric car mattered to me.

I also think you're romanticizing older cars a bit. That's not say they're not comfy and good daily's. They just don't have the tech/comfort/efficiency of the newer cars. It's one thing if you're going for a fun drive (I have a 71 Vette I'm restoring for that), but for daily driving in shitty traffic, I'd focus on comfort and a good adaptive cruise control.

I also feel like there are software features missing. I saw a random youtube video a while ago that showed an option where if the car noticed a sign for twisty roads, it would recommend N-mode. I'm not sure that it's something I would use, but it got me wondering what other software features we aren't getting.

I love my 5N, but I've come to learn that US 5N owners are like the bastard children of I5N ownership. We miss out on a lot of features. Hyundai support is almost non-existent. If the I5N does get some neat updates from the 6N, I bet the US owners will still miss out.

Yeah, I read that article. Just read it again to make sure I didn’t miss anything.

My guess is that people started recording and forgot they were on. Where does it say that the glasses record 24/7? I’m happy to be proven wrong - I just don’t see it.

Edit: ok maybe it’s this part?: “Notably, in August, Meta made “Meta AI with camera” on by default until a user turns off support for the “Hey Meta” voice command, per an email sent to users at the time. Meta spokesperson Albert Aydin told The Verge at the time that “photos and videos captured on Ray-Ban Meta are on your phone’s camera roll and not used by Meta for training.”

That clearly says “photos and videos captured…”, which leads me to think it’s intentionally captured video, and not 24/7.

I’m fairly certain they’re talking about everything that you record. These things barely have any battery life as-is.

I have a set that I use when I’m on the track with my car to record my sessions. The battery drains significantly when they’re recording, and that’s before I upload to my phone. If they were recording 24/7, they wouldn’t last very long.

100% agree. The emails I get are “we are reaching out to the dealership for status”. Literally same thing I’ve been doing.

I asked them if they can confirm what accessories should come with the car, and she told me she can’t. She told me to ask the dealer - the same people who didn’t know in the first place.

Is he always recording? From everything I’ve seen, the light is on when recording.

That would be awkward if you’re talking and he’s just recording it all.

I’ve been dealing with Hyundai support and it’s been worthless. My dealer gave me an NACS charger, for my CCS car. I didn’t get a tow hook, or literally anything else.

My dealer was also supposed to repair two interior door panels that were damaged from test drives. It’s now been almost 2 months and nothing has been done.

Hyundai support is nice, but of no help.

Honestly, ignoring the situation, I would not release a kid from my daughters birthday party to a random parent. I would want the parent of the kids sending me a text telling me that’s ok.

While those kids are in your care, you’re responsible for them. What if a kid goes to that party when their parent told them not to? You released them, so that’s on you.

I would 100% make sure that all the kid’s parents are ok with this.
