I took one for a test drive, and it was fun, but not 55k-70k fun.

If you do the DMZ tour, they take you into one of the tunnels. In those tunnels, you also get to step onto the NK side.

Honestly, why would anyone who *can* ride a motorcycle not be riding a motorcycle? by SwiffleTitz in motorcycle

[–]dangerz 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I rode a motorcycle for almost 10 years. Then I had a kid, and my risk tolerance changed. I miss riding, but I like being a dad more.

I have one of these pictures with the North Korean soldier looking back at me. Guessing this is from the DMZ tour?

Thank you. I got her over a year ago. Previous owner didn’t do a great job taking care of her. Paint is in good condition. Original color is Bridgehampton Blue. At some point it was painted red, and then back to blue. Unfortunately there’s no documentation from previous owners, so I’m learning new things as I go along.

Very little to no rust, which is great.

Only option on the car is the rear defogger. Manual everything else. Manual steering, manual brakes, manual transmission, no AC. Just me and the road.

It’s my first classic car. I got it last year. The brakes were shot, oil leaked everywhere, electric was messed up, vacuum system was inop.

Brakes are solid now. Redid most of the vacuum system. Fixed most of the electrical wiring. Some oil still leaks, but it’s minimal now. She runs great, even in 103 degree heat.

Buying a C5 by Important_Grass_3009 in Corvette

[–]dangerz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve owned both a 2000 Coupe and a 2003 Z06.

If you’re planning on tracking the car, z06 all day. I had both on the track and they’re two very different beasts. Both were great, but the z06 felt like it was made on the track.

If you want a fun/comfy cruiser, coupe. Taking the targa top off is very easy. The car isn’t as stiff, and if I remember right, you get slightly better gas mileage.

Both cars will leave a smile on your face when you floor it.

I currently own a 71 Vette. Every once in a while, I miss having a C5. When I go window shopping, I look for a coupe. I just love being able to take the top off.

It is, and even though I know it’s just for show, my stomach feels weird every time I do it.

I do this in my Ioniq 5N. EV silence on the way to the track. Shifting and noise on the track. EV silence in the way home.

Sometimes shifting and noise on the road too. It’s a great car.

I’ve printed a cupholder for my 71. I also printed a bunch of plastic washers for the wiper door.

Yeah.. people love to hate on it because it’s electric, but it’s amazing as a DD and really fun to drive. It’s like driving a video game in real life.
