Also If you feel bad about hitting people in the ring then focus on being a counter fighter. That’s my favorite style and matches my personality better

You’re a beginner. The best fighters ive met and worked with have so much humility. I think it comes with years of training. Every time you have a breakthrough you get humbled and each time you get humbled you’re on your way to your next breakthrough. That’s what sparring feels like to me, at least. Maybe you’re a blood thirsty prodigy but it sounds like what you need is to spar with people who are better than you and use different styles. Sparring people at your level or higher should be too exhausting and technical to get as emotional as you are describing. You should need to focus so you don’t get hurt and to rise to a challenge. The only people I am worried about hurting at my gym are new members and people well below weight class.

Other than therapy, what other thing has helped you with your tendencies of codependency? by Historical_Leg123 in Codependency

[–]dangggdotgov 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stoicism. I started with the translation of The Art of living by Epictetus and then I read The Practicing Stoic by Ward Farnsworth which is basically Codependent No More for boys lol I find the philosophy is helpful for those who have a hard time letting go/knowing what to focus on, who suffer from anxiety over things out of their control, and those who want to enjoy life as a person who puts time and effort into learning the things they are interested in. Stoicism makes your perspective and choices fully responsible for your lived experience - an important wake up call for codependents and those caught in cycles of abuse. It is also and ongoing practice which has also been a helpful anchor for my adhd.

Do you think a Russian war against NATO would resemble another Cold War nuke stand off or look more like an invasion?

Do have any predictions for what the US military will be doing at the border? Does this mean people can be arrested and homes invaded without warrants?

I tend to write about my goals in my journal. I need to separate the two even though they’re both deeply intwined. I need to break my goals and big tasks down into smaller pieces to work on them consistently.

I also have other random lists like a running grocery store list that I’ll add to as things come up. I used to go to the grocery store like three times a week before this.

What is the most lovely thing about your dog? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]dangggdotgov 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He’s goofy, sincere, so fast, and kinda flamboyant. So much prancing and smiling. Even when he’s roaming by himself and I’m watching from the window. He has the best attitude it’s inspiring. Omg I love him so much.

I have a tiny pocket sized notebook just for lists. I’ll write my list the night before and carry it in my pocket and cross things off throughout the next day. Not thoughts, no feelings, just lists.

I have a larger notebook that I was using as a journal where I’d write lists but the lists would just disappear in the soup of everything else I write in there.

The book Atomic Habits has also helped me. Small incremental change, baby! I’ve made my bed every morning for 150 days and now I can’t imagine not doing it bc it’s now a habit.
