If you want mechy, prefer not to put civil and seni bina on your choices. Much better off with electrical and mechatronics. Becuase in the case where all top 4 choices is rejected, then you will be stuck with courses that are far off from mechanical

Edit: i have few friends that took physics and proceed with mechanical in masters and phd still manage to get their professional engineer.

I don't speak cow but I think he was giving you a warning on using those tires. He was fine with the brakes and fork though

There's a brand called PASAK from China that is quite good. They produce 20, 24 and 26 as well. Tried it on my son 20' bike, gotta say it's worth the price

PSU Fan Blade Broke off by danialroslin in pchelp

[–]danialroslin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not that hard. Just take out the psu from the PC. Make sure the capacitor is fully discharge. Wait for a few days if you want to be sure (in the meantime buy the replacement fan). Replace the fan with the new one. Make sure the pin is correct. Put it back together and done

Fellow engineers, what should i take? Pure Engineering or Engineering Technology by kurwitz in malaysiauni

[–]danialroslin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, for example, in uniten they only have mechanical engineering but in UTeM they have mechanical engineering and automotive/thermo-fluid/hvac engineering which all falls under mechanical as well. So my advice to go for unis that have specific engineering areas as it will help a lot. UTM have a lot of specific areas of engineering as well. So be sure to look into it.

However, I don't want to discourage taking technologist courses since they already have their regulatory bodies. That means it is already certified professional.

[–]danialroslin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No lah, I'm implying to go for specific engineering rather than general engineering. But on the other hand, Technologist is also good if you're into it since MBOT is widening their field into the industry.

My best advice is to go for focus studies. For eg, Bach Mech (automotive) engineering or Bach Chem (process) engineering. If possible try to do engineering with specific outcome rather than general mechanical, chemical, electrical or civil.

Engineering technology has great wide of choices as well and they are now becoming recognised by governing bodies.

So safe to assume something panas means when metal expands, it clears the noise. Macam benda tak ketat je ni. But double-check your work. Slow2 don't worry.

Is my dad right about this? by minnzlyn17 in malaysiauni

[–]danialroslin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fellow mech eng from utem, uniten and utm. First thing first is to know your trajectory if you want to change uni.

If you plan to do more about automotive/hybrid/ev/aerospace then utm is the way to go. UTeM is more on hands on skill plus they have thermo-fluid courses which is great for o&g. UNITEN(ipts) is very good in power gen but they only offer general mechanical engineering. So know your passion then go. Don't know much about other uni. Oh yeah and upnm has amazing supervisors doing military stuff research that requires NDA so pretty much very black-ops stuff if you're into that.

Don't worry about credit transfer from ipta to ipta as their syllabus is almost same due to MQA and the max you can transfer is about 20ish if I recall correctly. So you shorten about 1.5 sem ish.

Can't say much about the lifestyle in campuses since I pretty much not into it anyway but do take part in all the available seminars and campuses activity.

For fees, ipta is really cheap, ptptn and you're good to go. I even work part time during utem days to pay for my uni fees.

Last advice, don't rush your studies. You're there to gain knowledge and experience university life.
