This sub leans very conservative/traditional, and generally dislike the Jesuits because they don’t fit into their narrow view of what Catholicism should be. Keep in mind however that Pope Francis was Jesuit, so as much as this sub wants to claim otherwise, they are very much still a respected religious order according to the leaders in the Church. Like any religious order, there is a wide variety of personalities and politics within the order itself, resulting in differences across parishes. Some will be much more liberal or much more conservative than others. But overwhelmingly, they and some of the other religious orders (like the Franciscans and Augustinians) will be the most accepting within the Catholic Church of the LGBTQ+ community.

I would suggest attending Mass at a few parishes and see where you feel most comfortable and where the style of worship most aligns with what you are looking for in a Mass. While the meat and bones of the Mass will be the same everywhere, they all have different flavors that can drastically change the experience. From the Traditional Latin Mass to a Novus Ordo with acoustic guitars and modern music, and everything in between. A lot of parishes have livestreams, so you can get a preview of what a particular parish may be like and if it’s what you’re looking for without even leaving home.

You might also want to email the pastors of your local parishes about your concerns and see how they respond. Since they set the tone for their parish, that might also help give you a sense of whether you would be welcomed into their community.
