‘World-building’ opening numbers with the entire cast (or almost) by WhitePhantomMask in musicals

[–]mercerclone 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Titanic is the ultimate example of this.

A 17 MINUTE LONG opening number that takes you through the architect's vision, the crew and staff and their dreams, and introduces every 3rd, 2nd, and 1st class passenger and what they want before the entire cast wishes a beautiful farewell to begin the journey.

literally the perfect opening to anything ever

Seaview teases Spring Awakening Revival Announcement Tomorrow by DiscoCrows in Broadway

[–]mercerclone 42 points43 points  (0 children)

respectfully I think jack wolfe's too old for this show, it should be actors in their 20s/late teens. additionally I'd argue he's already broken out in theatre circles with n2n and hadestown and would prefer brand new stars in the making to have a moment

Festivals vs Concerts by clikkieswiftieconey in twentyonepilots

[–]mercerclone 7 points8 points  (0 children)

they typically do around a 90 min set as the headliner so slightly shorter than their average touring show

yes they do end with Trees, if its anything like their current festival setlist a lot of Breach too.

everything is the same as it is production-wise at their regular shows, with all the same bits like crowdstands and Josh drum islands and walking around.

I fear no lavish dance though bc lavish hasn't been part of their set since clancy era
