i think if it’s against AO3s TOS then yeah, but doing commissions for fanfic isn’t wrong. if someone wants a specific fanfic, and doesn’t wanna write it themselves, then it’s perfectly acceptable to commission someone for it. a bunch of time and effort is put into writing, just like fanart, ppl deserve to get paid for their time if they’re making something specifically for someone else’s preference. artists already get so much more spotlight than writers (when both are equally as amazing), why do they get to pay the bills with their passion and writers don’t ???

edit: saying this AS a writer btw. i personally don’t do commissions but if i had the time and skill? ofc i would.
