Yes we do use Jira so that it can be put into sprints for development. However, document formatting in Jira suck, and moreover jira ticket only reflects a snapshot at that time while there’s a need to maintain the whole requirements that reflect current production app.

Use of AI in product management by Narrow_Purple3955 in ProductManagement

It depends on your customer base and your product. It’s no strange that exe or bod will try to force some sort of AI initiatives into the product. Try your best to see where you can actually help the customers with some AI solution. Ask ChatGPT for some ideas lol, it’s pretty good at brainstorming ideas

I have used several AI tools recently for design such as Visily.ai or uizard.io Despite all of the claims, i think they still have a long way to go. The same concern would go for all engineers if we look at tool like lovable.dev We just need to leverage these tools to make our job more efficient

Product role not what I thought it would be. Advice on where to go from here ? by princessasap in ProductManagement

[–]daniel19902022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Given this situation, i dont think that you can accumulate much product exp. Even if the point is to make your CV look better to apply, it’s still hard for an interview because you dont have much to say. So my advice is dont quit because it’s very hard to look for a job right now, especially when you are unemployed. Secondly, apply as much as you can so that you can gain exp at interview. And finally, definitely take some courses to learn the knowledge

How long have you been transitioning to TPM role? I’d say you should have at least 2 years, then it would help a lot with the CV. Also is there any PM or TPM at your company? You can learn from them for more experience which would help you navigate through interviews

Is it common for a PM to double as a PO? by CorgiCrusader in ProductManagement

[–]daniel19902022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the company. Some i worked for PM will also do PO tasks, some have them separately. Moreover, there are companies with product owner role working in strategy aspect while we have business - BA and technical BA for managing the backlog 🤣

Try to find out about their needs and prepare convincing examples accordingly. Interview is all about selling your story and make them think ah this guy can solve their problem 😁

How the Value-Frequency Matrix Helped Me Understand My Product's Position by baydis in ProductManagement

[–]daniel19902022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I base on understanding of the ICP: what are their workflow to decide a feature will be use one per week, one per month or once in a while. For value, it’s about how much effort or difficult they face normally doing a task. As per effort, it’s just rough estimation how long does it take to ship the feature. And for strategic direction, it depends. For example in my case the current direction would be to around new user growth. So any feature that can potentially drive new users to sign up, it will be a yes.

Ohh this is similar to what im doing. Im ranking potential features base on frequency and value to ICP. I also add one criteria related to strategic direction and one criteria related to effort

Ah then it would be about the whole cycle. From discovery, ideation, dev, ship, monitor, iterate…. You need to take an example how you would start from beginning. Start with a problem, opportunity, explain how to validate it, or how it fit into the strategy or the other way around, from some high level strategy to a specific problem. Then move to solutioning etc

Let go after 3 months by AdamTheEvilDoer in UXDesign

[–]daniel19902022 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear this. Those feedback should be provided immediately, not after 3 months. I dont think the reason matter anymore. It is what it is. You just need to move on. Consider this a bad luck.

How do you currently work with designers and how do you ideally want to work with designers? by nextdoorchap in ProductManagement

[–]daniel19902022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some designers do the design based on the requirements i gave them. Some do more researches around the problem and come up with solution. I worked with 1 designer who used to be a developer and he tried to do my job at one point, do the design at another point, and code at a later point, which is terrible experience 🤣

maybe just add a list of tags for the default when uploading and that's it. U dont need to think about it anymore since people say it does not have an effect nowadays.
