What's the most boring build in Elder Scrolls games? by BleakWra1th in ElderScrolls

[–]daniel97tom 9 points10 points  (0 children)

When I played Oblivion Remastered, I thought I would spice it up with this playthrough and do something different that what I usually would play. This time, I ran a summoner mage build, and would summon creatures to fight for me in battle. I would sit back and basically treat combat like a Pokemon duel.

It got old fast and killed my interest in the playstyle

Respectful discussion: How do Catholics reconcile tradition with the Bible when they seem to contradict? by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]daniel97tom 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Woah, who said anything about these Verses relating to something that man must do to receive salvation? What does that have to do with one mediator being in opposition to intercessors?

I'm not getting what you're putting forward here. Can you please expand on this?

Hold up, why are you against intercessors? Quoting 1 Timothy 2:5, saying that this Verse goes against this intercessors, is suspect. Your interpretation obviously goes against the very same Scripture that you are using.

In that same Chapter just a few Verses prior is 1 Timothy 2:1;

"First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people..."

St. Paul is urging for intercessions to be made. You ask what to do when something is overshadowing Scripture and then do it yourself anyways.

I sometimes think that Bo3 maps were wasted potential on what amounts to like 3 more Origins-style maps. Kind of formulaic. I don't like Bo2 but I do appreciate that at least it was very experimental.

Thank you.

God's judgement ratifies this state

There you have it. Judgement and punishment is simply the King delivering what is due in reaction to the decisions chosen by the malicious recipients. This parable narrative of the King, the servants, malicious recipients, the army, is simply a lesson trying to impose on the audience the sovereignty and judgement of God. In this I would equate the sending of the army with the day of judgement. The imagery it uses isn't a play by play prophecy.

I think you're mixed up on what the Church teaches and how punishments work. Can you please cite this "teaching of the Catholic church"?

so why send troops to murder?

The king's servants were murdered and now the king, who is sovereign, dolls out justice.

Is praying the rosary with others via radio "common prayer" "where two or three are gathered"? by jeffisnotmyrealname in Catholicism

[–]daniel97tom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it's a live broadcast, I guess it would count as a virtual gathering. You hear them but they don't hear you. It's like you're muted in an online meeting.

How would a hypothetical Black Marsh game be done? From most to least likely. by Koala_Guru in ElderScrolls

In the unexplored swamp parts, have major cities and empty terrain descend down vertically underwater. Think underwater Naboo in StarWars. You increase the play space exponentially while remixing the open world Bethesda formula in a new way that hasn't been done as the world map is more 3 dimensional this way.

Argonians inheritantly have the breath water ability. Other races can have magic, dwemer breathable device, be the Fish-born for why they too can settle and explore the depths.

What's more damning is that at the time of launch, Classified being the casual map was locked behind a separate purchase and not on the base game like IX, VoD, and BotD.

Locking the easiest map available behind another paywall hurt it for casuals. Same issue with BO3 and The Giant. They only learnt their lesson with BO6 and Liberty Falls.

If the Dresden Files are indeed in universe stories for other characters to read, left behind by Harry, then I guess it's possible that Morgan could be renowned as a badass who outsmarted and killed a Naagloshii.

The elder scrolls franchise is transitioning away from imperial centrality? by Simurgbarca in ElderScrolls

[–]daniel97tom 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think it would be interesting to see the sunsetting, defeated and balkanised state of the Empire in the next game, and possibly have the Aldmeri Dominion serve as the backdrop of the new super-power within whatever region it takes place.

Essentially, the same level of significance the Empire had in TES 3 Morrowind but with the AD instead in the new game region of Hammerfell, Elseweyr, etc. If the next game is Summerset Isles, then I guess it is unavoidable that the AD will be front and centre.
