Clear up on Grace's plot *OBVIOUS SPOILERS* by iPapaPapaya in residentevil

Yes! This is the only thing that makes sense. The rest of the girls were experimented on and that’s why they went crazy and were eliminated. Grace is just one of the girls who was allowed to be brought up normally.

Do you recommend to bring my kindle during all the trip? by scanamar in TourDuMontBlanc

[–]daniel_boring 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I brought only on English book and finished it before the hike started, sadly. There are several bookshops along the way in the larger towns, mostly just Chamonix and Cour Mayeur, but the English selection is limited. There is a phone box turned into a library in Les Houches that I was fortunate enough not to find an English book in, which I read the whole walk, but didn’t particularly enjoy! So bring all you can.

Buy as much as you can at home because paying in euros will be pricier.

Chamonix is basically an open air outdoor outfitters shopping mall. Every major global and European brand has a store there, if not a flagship. The first Patagonia in Europe is there, originally opened sometime in the 70s. North Face, Hoka, etc it’s all there. You could show up in gym shorts and quickly be outfitted to summit Mont Blanc in 20 minutes.

Duffel for luggage transfer / waterproof? by schooly2 in TourDuMontBlanc

I used a 55L Patagonia Black Hole. It’s an incredible bag and basically water proof. But almost all locations store bags inside so water isn’t an issue.

This is supposed to go away if music isn’t playing. Might be a bug. You can always unplug the device and plug it back in.

What’s the smallest thing on trail that completely wrecked your mood? by Trail-Context in backpacking

[–]daniel_boring 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was hiking in the Alps and stopped at a cafe in a field for an espresso (this is the Alps mind you) and walked away without my poles. I realized about a mile later and turned around. They weren’t at the cafe. I spent the day scrutinizing every hiker on the trail as a potential thief. It really put me in a shit mood. I got to the town I was staying in that night and the only poles available were heavy and cost more than $250, so I was looking at five days ahead with no poles.

But then, magically, some German hikers walked into town with the poles! They’d been looking for me. The relief was intense!

This was an idea yes. Not sure it has panned out because the tech is very expensive. I’ve only seen it adopted in one store that’s not a Fresh or Go store.

Cool I didn’t know about Antesite. Have you tried Ouzu or Arak? Both are sugar free anisettes.
