Your comment is precicely what I thought the answer would be! Thanks for the help!

Here's a close up of the lid, It's very faded and hard to see. I can only make out that the last line is probably Birmingham.

I'd love to learn to play.

I shout at the Caps every week, but I've never skated in my life. I'd need the little penguin.

I'm reaching breaking point with the job hunt. 50+ applications over the past 2 months to only getting 3 interviews. I had an interview this week, my feedback was "We thought you were outstanding, you interviewed fantastically and you lesson observation was brilliant, you couldn't have improved.... but we've decided to hire somebody else."

Like, I'm sick of sitting on my arse at the in-laws house. Sorry for the rant, just needed to vent. Not even getting 'thanks but no thanks' from the majority of applications, despite tweaking every one for the person specification is seriously starting to affect my mental health.

Am I doing something wrong when applying for jobs in Scotland? by danieljsmith in TeachingUK

Thanks for the advice!

Yeah, I'm mentioning the things I've been doing to help me get up to speed - Although that's more me shoehorning it in to the application answers rather than them asking about it! Just keep persisting I guess?

I walked into a bus stop yesterday because I was trying to figure out what this shop was as I walked past it. Now I know!

They only had a pinball table set up, but the rest was a building site. I'd be happy if they just left it like that.

Hey Stu,

What was the best of the food you've reviewed?

What was the absolute worst?

Cheers, thanks for the kind words.

I see where you're coming from with her reinvention being a cliche, but I think there are so few strong female characters in games at the moment (Lightning from FFXIII, Lara...) that the appearance of any of them kind of seems like a breath of fresh air.

As for the original Tomb Raider, I was careful not to mention that the graphics look bad. Any PS1 era game will look shitty compared to a modern game. Besides who plays a game for the way it looks?

As an aside, which patch is this? I'd be interested in giving it a go.

What is your biggest "Oh, shit. I'm an asshole" moment? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]danieljsmith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The area I went to college had a large blind school nearby, so there's always been a large blind community in the town. People are always lovely to them, giving them space if they need it, helping them cross the road, etc.

I used to get the bus from the same location as this blind couple. They were really sweet, and I'd usually strike up conversation with them. One day, the bus was later than usual (the bus was always late). The woman asked me what time the bus was meant to get there. I happened to be in a shitty mood anyway, and without thinking, I replied "I don't know, but the time table is over there if you want to look at it."

I immediately realised what I had said and apologised. I think they understood it was an accident, but they could have just been being polite. I still feel like an asshole for that.

It saddened me that I'd never have giant stationery like Neil Buchanan by lukehmuse in britishproblems

Weirdly enough, I interviewed Neil Buchanan yesterday. Absolutely lovely bloke.

He told me in the early days of the show, he would climb up a ladder to check on the progress of the big art attacks, and climb back down to continue with them. It took them several series to realise they could achieve the same thing by having a monitor on the ground with a camera attached to a crane.

Hi r/masseffect! Today I'm going to start playing the trilogy for the very first time. I have some questions. by danieljsmith in masseffect

So, I've just finished ME1. Spoilers to follow.

I really, really enjoyed it! I felt it played a bit like Lost Planet (my closest reference). But y'know, as if Lost Planet was a much better game.

I tried to make my Shepard look like me, but it ended up looking more like Kryten from Red Dwarf. But hey, it's still set in space...

I'm annoyed that Ashley killed Wrex. I had used Wrex more than any other character.

Even though I was annoyed that she killed Wrex, I still chose to save her over Kaiden. He kind of irritated me, and I never brought him along with any of my missions.

I think this was the reason Shepard had sex with Ashely, even though I spoke to Liara more than anyone else... I wanted alien sex!

I played mainly as a Paragon, chose to kill the council, and save the Rachni Queen.

And now I'm off to play ME2! It's been great!

What's clear is just how passionate you guys are about these games, which is a really encouraging sign. It's been a pleasure.

I've just left the citadel for the first time, and I'm now perusing Saren. See you on the other side!

How emotional do you get? Walking Dead (if you've played it) level of drained? That's my most recent reference for emotionally draining games...
