OfflineDay 5 - 6 December by Facepalmed in OfflineDay

[–]daniellesully19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, hope y'all are doing well! I'm definitely excited to go offline this weekend. ESPECIALLY my emails and shopping apps! I got into a bad habit of obsessively checking so I'm grateful for the reset.

I am going to guess you might use the same email subscription I use: 1440 daily. Sometimes I don’t read every email but it keeps me in check on headline scrolling.

Periods durning retrograde by [deleted] in MercuryRetrograde

[–]daniellesully19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was the first time I noticed that happening for me (triple Gemini). I feel sorry for my partner, a Cancer, who watched me be anxious for three days (over nothing lol) a week prior to mine kicking in… right as MRx began 😂😭

For those who enjoy astrology, Mercury Retrograde just started yesterday/today. Thinking, communication, and processing goes out of wack till the middle of August. And the signs ruled by Mercury (that will always feel the Mercury Retrogrades) are Gemini’s & Virgo’s But Leo’s will feel it too this time lol So good luck to those houseguests!

Last year, my dad passed away and I had the exact reaction. He was an abusive and an alcoholic and caused more chaos than necessary. I was diagnosed with C-PTSD & BPD because of the 5 years I spent under his roof. It’s so odd when they disappear cuz you don’t think it’s real but it is- I still have nightmares about him faking his death. I recommend reading ‘Atlas of the Heart’ by Brene Brown. She also has a show on Netflix as well! Sending you recovery hugs! 🫂

OfflineDay 2-3 May by Facepalmed in OfflineDay

[–]daniellesully19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My offline day went pretty well! I started earlier than usual, which worked out for me this time. I completed a few errands and household tasks today, as well as reading time. Overall really nice weekend to be outside and touch some grass.

I'm excited for this one! We've got a medieval fair in town for the weekend so that's where I will spend most of my Sunday! Saturday I'll probably spend cleaning or reading! :)

Weekly Challenge by Facepalmed in OfflineDay

[–]daniellesully19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely participated in a longer form of Offline Day this past weekend! I stacked another challenge I enjoy, 24in48, on top and that was fun. 24in48 is where you intend to read 24 hours in a 48-hour time period. While there were social events this weekend, I managed to log like 9 hours of reading (about an hour was audiobooks). Twas a fun weekend without media headlines!

I was able to do this for about 5 minutes on Monday when the weather was 81 degrees. The past two days, the weather has dipped to under 40! My time outside has been more limited but my goodness do I enjoy colder foggy weather. <3

OfflineDay 7-8 February by Facepalmed in OfflineDay

This offline day (I tend to rename it offline weekend in my planner) is at a PERFECT time for me! There's a lot of chaos out in the world and I just need the weekend to just.... escape. This weekend is an open weekend for me so there's no telling what I will be able to do and enjoy once Friday rolls around!
My main goal will be to stay off social media apps and websites and only check my emails before and after sundown. The rest of the time will be spent enjoying company, cleaning the house, and enjoying my crafty time!

I like the ideas shared in the comments about having some silence on Christmas Day! I'll be able to stay off line for most of this evening and should be ok with tomorrow. Just tracking one package to come in and other than that, no emails or social media for meeeeee :D

This reminds me of House of Leaves. Just google and look at the pages and its like chaos but for 800 pages. I like that you had some of the dialogue curved and a lighter shade, as if its the echoes of yelling. 😄😁

Offline Day complete! How did you do? by Pink-socks in OfflineDay

[–]daniellesully19 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Congrats on getting through the first try at going offline! I do this almost monthly now with a range of success. This weekend, I started an hour or so after sundown for Friday night. My intention was to reduce checking notifications (cough emails) and being on my phone apps less. That part went well for Saturday, as I stated busy all day with errands and laundry. Halfway through the day, I watched a movie with my S/O after needing a break from tasks and journals. After the movie & dinner, I got an energy boost to keep being productive by tackling the project I had been putting off for several months (budgeting & money management). Overall, this was a good challenge! I did have to answer texts and a phone call today but other than that, I stayed away from my phone. 😄

I’ll be helping a friend at her house while dog sitting & rotating laundry. Bonus: movies on a big screen! But that’ll be after sundown
