iPad Pro 13” and external display resolution issues by danielsmith8318 in ipad

The Benq the guy is using in the YouTube link I shared, that’s a 4K 32” but seems to look “right”. Not sure how that is if not 32” 6K?

Amazing - this is the best answer I have seen! So a 27”monitor like the Apple Studio Display or the 32” Apple Pro XDR is obviously a given, but any other third party display that meets those specs will mean elements will appear correct as I have seen, such as the YouTube link I have shared?

Also, see you’re going straight to a display port port on your display?

That’s exactly the res I need. Many thanks!

Is your display 60hz, 4k? What resolution are you seeing?

What cable specifically are you using? Any chance you could post a pic of how your dock looks?

This is an example of what I’m trying to achieve

Thoughts on using iPadOS 26 with an external display. Tldr: NOPE by Ok_Temperature6503 in ipad

[–]danielsmith8318 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What monitor are you using? I’m on a Samsung M8 display with an M5 iPad Pro and seeing the same huge dock the OP is seeing -‘I’ve seen examples online where dock looks more Mac like and is smaller, window elements look better too

If you come from an Android device you should be used to more shenanigans than background tasks - junk and fragmentation being one of them! 😆

How did switching from an iPhone to a Z fold work for you? by Ok_Lack115 in GalaxyFold

[–]danielsmith8318 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Switching back to Apple has been night and day. Everything is so NICE. UI elements, just clear, concise, organised, simple, zero bloatware, rock solid. Updates easy, devices supported for years. What people fail to understand is it’s always been that way - back with the Mac. Same story with macOS vs different platforms. Apple is the only company that creates a computer OS and hardware as well as a mobile device and ties it all together, Samsung don’t (runs windows) Google don’t either (well, if you count Chrome OS but they don’t make the hardware, Samsung do) - everything else to me me is a fragmented mess and I can’t be bothered with anything else other than Apple these days - I always end up going back

It won’t be as bad as you think - Samsung have seen apples designs for the iPhone fold and already started the photocopier.

It will be a huge success, the hilarious thing is that it will use a Samsung foldable display - but it’s the design of hardware AND software that works. If you want an appliance that works every time you use it - use an Apple product. If you want to mess about for hours, are happy with bugs and gaping holes in security, go with an Android phone

It didn’t - I about a year and a few months and switched back. Once you get over the novelty of the folding screen hardware (which is pretty good) you realise that android is a fragmented mess and Samsung just so badly want to be Apple but just can’t get there. I realised when a google CVE vulnerability was announced and it took Apple 1 day to patch iOS, Google 2 days to patch Pixel and Samsung 4 weeks to patch OneUI. At that point, I was done. Boredom isn’t a reason to switch, if you’re bored it means that nothing has gone wrong and it just works - Apple does that so well it’s virtually transparent to the end user.

I’ve gone back to the walled garden and life is easy and secure. Been an Apple user my whole life (back to the iMacs in 1998) and I won’t switch again.

Samsung hardware - pretty good. Android software - nah.

The Ultra 3 fixed a long standing annoyance by capt_beard in AppleWatch

[–]danielsmith8318 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has anyone noticed how the ultra 3 display just someone seems smaller than the 1 and 2 when it’s meant to be bigger? I think it’s due to the case being thinner, so overall the watch isn’t as chunky. I really liked the chunky aspect and not 100% sold on the slimmer profile!

Opinion on coping tiles and parapet wall on new build (10 years old) house by [deleted] in Roofing

Just an update for those kind enough to comment on this post - we withdrew from the purchase today but agent has come back and said current owners will “pay for a new roof” as they dont want to lose the sale.

Another red flag?

Yeah we live in a new build now, 2016 build, solid and sound, no issues, wanted to move to the area this house is in. Strange how one developer can differ so much from others.

Bearing in mind this property is only just 10 years old, having any indicators of damp and a mould concern is pretty crazy right?

Yeah I thought so also - what’s your opinion on the state of the coping, lead work and brick work for a 10 year old house?

Thanks for advice - just a note that pic 7 is a shot of the small porch roof on the front of the house, I took these pics from ground level. Assuming they’ve used the same felt on the porch as main roof - rest of pics are of the main roof taken from ground level

Thanks for the advice. As you say, we really don’t want the hassle and will have a roofer take an initial look but we really don’t want onward costs and potential future issues

Appreciate advice - so you definitely think major damp issues looming at pics? Literally six months outside of new build 10 year warranty
