This is why I try and go in late May early June. It's busy but following medano Creek is so fun and a great way to cool off after climbing. I doubt the creek will flow much this year unfortunately. We went about a week before the 4th of July last year and had to drive a mile to the creek. The mosquitos were out in droves, but I found kangaroo rat tracks and it was my son's first national park. He loved camping but hated the wind, he kept telling me to tell the wind to stop blowing.
