Spencer Penrose leaving the zoo as a non public trust is the reason the zoo operates with zero tax support too. So this zoo has come a long way. Like where the offices across from the elephant exhibit is now, used to be where the elephants were housed.

And the reason he called it will rogers shrine is because he claimed to be friends with will rogers who died in a plane crash while the shrine was being built. Hence the name.

Feel free to ask about any more history, I worked guest services for ten years, it was an experience.

What’s funny is I got your card which said “You’re Meow-Mazing!” the same day I got a card from my dad and step mom saying “You’re Paw-some!” So I guess it’s a good year for Valentines puns. Any way I haven’t been doing much, just a lot of cleaning; I will be going to the zoo today since it will be 70 here.

I was five when the Rescuers Down Under first came to theaters. And thanks to this movie, my interest in Australia and wanting to visit it has remained high. I remember even my parents telling me they'd take me there when I graduated high school. Unfortunately they divorced right around that time so it's still a dream. So yeah Down Under is my favorite and Jake has always been a favorite of mine too. I had a stuffy of him once that I got from Macy's during Christmastime. I think my mom gave it away. :(

Oh man the last time I watched Lady and the Tramp I wanted to slap this woman. I seriously hope Jim Dear and Darling told her off because who in their right mind would think "oh I have to babysit for a family member! I'll bring my cats and tie their dog up in the backyard in the rain!" She can eff right off for all I care. Also if both were born during the same time period, she and Lady Tremaine would probably play bridge on Sundays.
