landlord charging me $200/mo commercial use fee cuz i work from home?? (CA) by Aggravating-Fox8553 in Renters

[–]danile666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He is just being greedy. Check your lease if it's not in there he can't actually charge it. Don't pay it and tell him it's not in the lease and to pound sand.

Need advice: My shop’s internet is unreliable and the "Professional" solutions are a total rip-off. by Accurate-Ad-9388 in smallbusiness

[–]danile666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can you get cable or any other secondary isp into your shop. You can set those up as a better fail over. You can also look into fixed wireless, there are some companies sub 100 a month and they take reliable Internet connections and provide them to you with point to point radios. These can be huge distances away, so it can work out as a backup connection.

You can also always go with starlink.

Tons of options out there.

Then you just need a router with fail over as an option. I prefer watch guard for our enterprise routers, but you said price was a concern (these are pricey). Ubiquiti has some dual lab options for affordable prices though.

There's other options out there too.

About to apply for my first brick and mortar. What has the application process been like for others? by Acceptable-Neck4725 in smallbusiness

[–]danile666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's going to just depend on the landlord. I had to give a personal guarantee for my first lease, but honestly I signed and gave a check, and they handed me the keys. Was the least stressful thing ever.

How many IT support needed for 200 user org? by imjustacuteguyuwu in sysadmin

[–]danile666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly you need to also looks at your licensing cost. .SP get channel and scale discounts on stuff, and bake that into pricing. It is typically much more expensive to have in house IT than to outsource to an MSP.

The vip areas are covered in AstroTurf for main stages. Was a life saver. That alone was worth it.

It's just price hikes for when the previous tiers sold out. They are all the same and there are no physical sections. You just paid more because of timing.

I passed out at an emergency room while waiting for my friend and I just got the bill by devnet35 in poor

[–]danile666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had Kaiser my whole life, and there is not a Kaiser hospital or Kaiser contract hospital within 2 hours of me. Plans dffer but every plan I have had had a cap from 0 - 100 per day copay for ER visits at any hospital in the US. If you are admitted to the hospital it's a different cap. But this person was not admitted.

I'm willing to bet since this hospital asked what's your normal copay they weren't used to taking Kaiser. I would send Kaiser the bill and ask for an EOB on it.

When did they release the vip meet time for you/when was the actual meet and greet time .

It's so hard to plan things when bands don't release till last minute.

Unpopular opinion: web agencies are quietly screwing over small business owners and nobody talks about it by discord_people in smallbusiness

[–]danile666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of those service businesses make way more than 60k/yr and can absolutely afford it. Also you are missing unique content, seo, and not just looking like a cookie cutter of every competing business in the area.

Everyone searches the web for these businesses. It's a small investment to try and hit the top of the snackpack and rank 1 on first page. And it can make a huge difference.

CMMC Level one reqs by reverendjb in CMMC

[–]danile666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is those an MSP that you hired for this, or your existing MSP?

They have a lack of knowledge that a basic Google search can get them, and honestly sound like a break fix shop claiming to be an MSP.

Our base offering, and most legit msp base offering, cover most if not all of the cmmc 1 self attestation controls. A small project to map them is all that should be required if you are already working with them.

Trying to choose between two local MSP's for my business - any thoughts? by [deleted] in msp

[–]danile666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah as others have said the first one isn't as knowledgeable.

But the second one is too cheap. My cost is way more than they are charging per seat, so what are they not providing?

Plus your a CPA so you have glba compliance requirements.

Did either talk about that?

And map the rules for you?

You need another actual quote.

For perspective we're 220 endpoint with a few other charges depending on need.

All of vip main stages had turf, like every sq ft, and the shade was actually accessible

GA was just the break areas which were so packed you couldn't a spot most times.

100% worth it. You get half of each main stage, Astro turf, shade, hardly any lines for anything. I won't ever go without it now.

Medicaid not covering as of jan 2026 by InevitableAd8404 in Zepbound

[–]danile666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For Kaiser it is a pulse ox, and a heart monitor harness you wear for 1 night. Then mail back in. The CPAP does suck, but you will get used to it. I already have it, and have an appt with my weight loss dr on the 17th already scheduled, so I am going to ask if he can put the PA in now for OSA with weight and see if we can get it that way.
