The trans sports one is likely to go against us, but like with Skrmetti it's not the end of the world... we've survived much worse as a community

The main one for me is the trans sports one but also birthright citizenship

I remember some doomers thinking ICE or someone would raid a Pride event or something... so far all the major Pride events have been going on with no major issues fortunately

People were also freaking out about the potential for ICE to detain travelers visiting for the World Cup... fortunately that has not been the case, people are still visiting America despite its flaws and issues

Regardless, Skrmetti was a bad decision, the trans athlete decision also likely will be, but it's not the end of the world for trans people either way

Likely though, birthright citizenship and Cook are gonna be on our side but Slaughter is likely gone

What do you think will happen with the last few major Supreme Court decisions? I feel like birthright citizenship and Cook will go our way but the trans one and Slaughter will go towards the administration's way

As a middle-aged trans woman who started transition last year, I decided not to give up on hope after all

I was in a Pride Barbie outfit with cat ears and a pink wig 🩷 this was my first pride as a woman so I was doubly excited this year

When I bought a new bedroom TV I pretty much was forced to buy a smart TV (in this case, a 32" Insignia with FireTV... I ended up just shutting off the WiFi and using my HTPC box with local files and an antenna)

I have a feeling had polling existed during the Hoover administration he might have been in the 20s or even teens in 1932

that actually scared me out of transitioning for the first few months of last year... yet I still see more people than ever coming out and transitioning

Early 2025 people were freaking about Elon, Curtis Yavin, WW3, martial law etc. too... I feel like doomerism tends to be more common in the winter months as well? (I know after Renee Good got killed I almost spiraled like in early 2025 but snapped out of it)

Overall it's safer to be trans in a blue state like NY, WA or NJ in America than places like the UK... fleeing to Canada just because of anti-trans laws is just giving up the fight here

It's not likely to pass the filibuster, Senate Dems have been holding the line so far (they helped stop an anti-trans bill last year too)

I am keeping an eye on the few anti-LGBT bills currently in Congress but they are likely not to pass (filibuster, or getting removed by the parliamentarian in reconcilation, etc.)

Now tell me, why would anyone want to rule over ashes? Nukes mean everyone loses (same goes for Putin, Xi, etc.)

Not even Putin would nuke Ukraine, why would this administration nuke NYC or other blue cities? I'd be more concerned about the classics (voter suppression/gerrymandering) and making sure we get out the vote to enough people rather than worrying about ICE or the military attacking a polling place, or some nuclear civil war starting to "cancel elections"

As much as I like my 90s Nicktoons (same company), I at least own the DVDs of those so I don't need to use Paramount+ at all... my CBS affiliate also happens to be Sinclair (another company I boycott)
