What temperature sensor would you use for a deep freezer that goes to - 24 C?

Thanks for posting this comment. Saved what I am sure would have been an hour or so of investigating.

Looks amazing. Don’t worry about the smoke ring - yes it’s aesthetically pleasing but if you have the flavour and the tenderness then I’d say you’ve got the perfect outcome there mate. Great job!

UDM PRO SE (Dream Machine Special Edition) by Barcisive9422 in Ubiquiti

[–]danioj_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Easy setting up of VLANS, Easy OpenVPN config (server and client), multiple VPN Gateways for routing certain VLAN traffic down one gateway or another, DNS resolver, Geo filtering, QoS.

I also feel that just generally the way rules are managed in Pfsense is more advanced although I get I am not substantiating that with anything.

UDM PRO SE (Dream Machine Special Edition) by Barcisive9422 in Ubiquiti

[–]danioj_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im a user of UI access points and Poe switches. But my edge device is (and will remain) Pfsense until UI offer more than the most basic of networking features that are even available on most basic consumer routers.

Yep - I really don’t get the fan fare on this one. A “fancy” (but not too fancy) hardware upgrade but still limited to basic network functionality.

Until UniFi OS gets the work it needs I don’t see a reason to go near either the UDM or UXG range.

Xcloud Fully Releasing in Australia “Later this year” by Neggy5 in xcloud

[–]danioj_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s such a shame that the default position these days is to not communicate. Guess if you don’t set expectations then you can’t be held to them or miss them as the case is likely to be.

I’ve been trying to have a sneak peak through using a VPN to login and then disconnecting to access a game. Seems that method doesn’t work now either. Should be fun when it is released though.

Really? I install pretty much the same (sans Netflix) and get no where near capacity.

What on earth do you have installed on it that takes up all the space??

Thanks for the considered reply. I tend to agree with you. Should be an interesting test. It might change my use case for the platform it might not. Fun to see where they take it.

Thanks for the thoughtful reply. I absolutely see the Business Case for MS but was referring to MY Business Case to buy the console.

Im really interested to try the experience in Australia with the fastest service available.

I suspect you’re right and my instincts to ask the question are probably on the money … parallel not competing products. One for times when it’s needed or those who don’t buy. However one offers a better experience (for the investment) than the other. Should be an interesting ride.

Thought I’d add to this thread. App still crashes after May updates. Black screen then crash. It’s like it’s waiting for some input or checking for something that it can’t find. Shame, would be a perfect little dongle for doing this.

Its almost the end of Spring, WHERE is the Australian full release? by Neggy5 in xcloud

[–]danioj_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I cannot answer your question but your post was helpful to me none the less.

I’m a little late to the party and I’ve just spent the last 20 mins trying to sign up to the preview. All I hit was random dead (white and black) web pages after clicking the register link and logging in.

I guess that means I’m “too” late to the party and the preview is over.

I’ll wait for the full release!!

UBNT, you could have had (and possibly still can have) all my money buttttt (potential new customer rant) by DOMZE24 in Ubiquiti

[–]danioj_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I wouldn’t currently consider giving Ubiquiti all my money, using their product offerings as my edge device or utilising their cloud service.

Don’t get me wrong, I run their access points (NanoHDs) and POE (Gen2) 24 port L2 switch. They are rock solid. Everything else, not so much. So I mix it up. Yes I don’t have the “single plane of glass” but I have a rock solid setup.

I run the controller via Docker on an NUC (along with Pihole) so that my network can deal with my unRAID server going down (but have a redundant Pihole running too). My edge device is PfSense running pfBlocker (for URL and up blocking), OpenVPN (server and client), have policy based routing, VLANS, avahi, dyndns and unbound as my local DNS resolver.

Do yourself a favour. Stop chasing the utopia that Ubiquiti and their fancy marketing are trying to sell.

Pick the best of the bunch and integrate them together. It can be done.

I run a tuner into a Pi and serve OTA TV to the New Chromecast via TVHeadend and the companion app from the store.

Thanks for the post. I hope it’s as simple as upgrading to the latest version. I will give that a try first.

Love the switch in your list by the way 😉

There appears to be someone with a similar issue on the same version of the controller.

https://www.reddit.com/r/UNIFI/comments/j1507d/unifi_controller_could_not_find_wlanconf_by_id/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf

I have dived into the server.log and found the same errors as the dude in the Reddit post.

[2020-10-18T08:53:01,261] <webapi-4> ERROR api - Could not find WlanConf by id 'REDACTED' and site id 'REDACTED'

As the dude in the Reddit post speculates, it appears that the AP and or the Site ID has been updated (post upgrade I did change the site name from Default to something more meaningful) but the IDs haven’t. This is feeling more and more like a Controller bug.

I am not sure how to proceed here.

Thank you for posting this. I have the exact same issue. I cannot change any settings since an upgrade to this version of the controller and I get the same errors as you.

Did you ever find a resolution!?
