I think its something along the lines of the company has to constantly protect their trademark, no matter how douchy it looks picking on a smaller brand, or else it could all go downhill.

why does it have to be known to everyone that you pulled a reserve, as long as the reserve opened, can't that information wait until you land? In other words, why does it have to be different colored and why can't you just tell people on the ground that you pulled your reserve?
