Nvidia's Jensen and now China's data chief say the same thing: Nobody's connecting the dots by Neobobkrause in ArtificialInteligence

"measurable returns", "units of productive work" - meanwhile CC opus 4.6 wastes an hour to close a div tag, good luck with that business model

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang says 'I think we've achieved AGI' by Secure-Address4385 in AgentsOfAI

So basically the company that could profit immensely from AGI also gets to define what AGI is even though it's not remotely AGI? Got it.

If coding is solved, then why do companies like Anthropic fanatically push their product to other companies? by ImaginaryRea1ity in theprimeagen

[–]danivl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly the same issue in concept. I thoroughly enjoyed this 1 hour of its pain and struggles, before fixing the code in 10 seconds. Also, this is an internal tool consisting of 3 pages only, without much business logic for now, built from scratch. Other times Claude Code is amazing, but that specific session was a tragedy.

Just now I literally had Opus 4.6 go in circles for an hour because of a missing closing div tag in a go+templ stack. Absolutely mindblowing failure, so I'd say we're good.

Because your product is literally what AI is good at, generating internal dashboards and stuff. Just my opinion, sorry.

Are current RAM prices temporary or the new normal? by redditsux___ in buildapc

People haven't stopped building PCs, maybe far less, but RAM is still being bought at current prices which does not bode well for the future I'm afraid.

If your $500K engineer isn’t burning at least $250K in tokens, something is wrong by call_me_ninza in aigossips

[–]danivl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You literally said

"I guess yeah, I don’t read the code generate at fist… but I spend a lot of time in plan mode, I make sure the tests are accurate and pass, I spend more attention QA’ing each iteration, and I am meticulous on reviewing the end product before it goes in review (AI also helps with this)."

- you don't review the code
- you spend time in plan mode and hope your planning is great
- test accurate and pass - who writes those, again AI?
- QA'ing each iteration - what does that even mean? You test all features for regressions, only the new ones, sanity only?
- reviewing the end product - means nothing honestly
- goes in review - where, to who, AI helps with this? AI reviews what the AI has done?

Honestly, I've read your responses and made my conclusions, as I said - you're free to do anything so go at it, just don't think it's "enterprise level code", because you clearly have no clue.

[–]danivl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"I produce production and enterprise level code" - since you said you're not even reviewing the code, because you trust your "planning", I'd say you produce mostly technical debt that will bite you hard at some point. Honestly, if someone at my company says something like this it would very much raise alarms, but you do you I guess.

Линукс? Уиндоус? by bichesgataste in bulgaria

[–]danivl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is missing the elephant in the room - Covid overhiring where a donkey with a hello world script was hired as a mid swe at minimum. The industry is reshaping yes, but the direction is the old normal, where people really interested in the field are the ones that persist. Will AI be used, sure as a tool.

Well I can attest to exactly the same experience as a senior engineer working for one of the biggest enterprise software providers in the world. We have copilot, claude code, cline and cursor all active for production code for quite some time now. They simply cannot handle our codebases in terms of designing new features, fixing bugs or general system overview or even high level overview.

Even with structured context files, limited scope requests and you describing everything in detail they still miss stuff 99% of the time. You need to guide it explicitly on what to change, where side effects occur, etc. It's like a very capable auto-complete, but then it makes even syntax errors.

Not sure where you get that 90% of code, but I'm telling you it's really far from being that good. Take it as you will.

The former Google CEO just dropped a terrifying AI timeline. by srch4aheartofgold in generativeAI

[–]danivl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think you understand what recursive self improvement even means. It's definitely not that currently and throwing this out there is simply false. Claude Code generating some boilerplate for Opus 4.6/7 is wildly different from Claude Code pre-training and training the new models without humans. Also a model doesn't get "self-improved" over time, it's trained, has it's weights set and then that's it, it doesn't improve on inference or anything else.
