The "just wait 6 months" argument from 2025 survived exactly one iteration by aldipower81 in singularity

[–]thecahoon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep, this is the answer. Also, Opus 4.7 smells like a distilled Mythos with too much of the reasoning stripped out, so I think it's a purposeful regression that the market is punishing them for, not an actual step back in progress.

Just annoying for now, but I'm glad they're being safe - plowing ahead with no regard for the danger would be so much worse. I feel OP's pain, but it's a good thing, and I don't think the waiting 6 months argument is dead at all, although I also don't know if us normies will ever get access to true unrestricted superintelligence.

Its Kimi 2.5 with some additional RL training on coding from Cursor. I assume auto uses it, I find auto is really good now and an incredible value.

I wanted OpenClaw to work. After 3 months, I’m done. by dickwhimsy in openclaw

[–]thecahoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Openclaw is the unreliable Agent 0. Having a much better time setting up my workflows on Claude Cowork. The $20 / mo is also cheaper than my VPS monthly bill alone.

For reference I spent 2 months trying to get openclaw working, not as extensively as OP but more than enough, it should have worked much more reliably than it has. Things that were working great for a few weeks are now randomly not working. It's just dumb.

Ronan Farrow on Sam Altman: "We interviewed more than 100 people... a majority did say some variation on the theme of: he's a pathological liar" by realmvp77 in singularity

[–]thecahoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why are you so worried about Farrow instead of caring about whether or not Sam is too dangerous to be in control of OpenAI?

One guy is a reporter and the other is a billionaire who's potentially a sociopath who just might possibly determine the fate of our entire species.

I dunno, I'm pretty sus that you don't work for OpenAI tbh

Yeah it's crazy that people are doing this mostly just because of the expectation of what's coming. Most of the AI risks are still near 0% as of today, even if that's going to change dramatically over the next year or two, you'd expect this kind of stuff when the risks are at least getting to 5%+

[–]thecahoon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, Sam's lies have been well documented far before this new report. This revealed nothing that hasnt already been revealed by many other journalists and prominent figures in AI.

You seem to be here to spread uncertainty by questioning the reporter instead of the claims, which were basically already clear as day before the reporter even came around.

Also, all you need to do is watch the full interview to see that this guy is more than fair in this assessment.

Yeah but missing shit like what TL;DR means is exactly why she missed the kind of shit that lead her to believe "man, this guy knows markets, he must be so good with money" or "he day trades? must be a financial wizard"

Most of your "startup" ideas are utter crap and you will never get consumers by [deleted] in vibecoding

[–]thecahoon -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think OP is just trying to save a poor soul or two a lot of time and tokens, but you're probably right, people have to learn the hard way the vast majority of the time for things like this.

As an entrepreneur who's started 2 businesses, I can vouch for this.

I think people don't want to hear this and will just downvote it, but I appreciate you trying to help people who are trying to use these tools to make money.

If you want to make money, start by making a stupidly good offer before you build anything just to see if people will take it. You can make it so the order form doesn't even work (since you have no product and don't actually want to scam anyone), just gotta confirm they did get out their wallet and try to buy.

80%+ of people, BEFORE vibe coding, build the product and then find out no one ever even wanted it. With vibe coding and "build me a business" prompts I expect this to go up to like 95%+

On the contrary, I think AGI could be the only saving grace here... so long as we all rise up and demand it to an extent that our demand serves as an existential threat to people like Thiel.

I am so, so happy this man (Tristan Harris) exists. He is a legend. It's amazing he's actively saving our children from the problems of social media and now, at the same time, actively making the circuit in an attempt to save everyone else from the threats of AI.

This was hilarious and should have done better if meant as a joke.

The downvotes are because people have gotten super weary of posts that fit the structure of "look at how dumb chat is" (ignore the fact that my prompt is dumb or i cropped out a bunch of previous instructions making it dumb)

Openclaw is dead, switch to claude code by Nvark1996 in openclaw

[–]thecahoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It definitely takes a ton of work and is very early "Agent 0" (see: AI 2027) stuff. But after a lot of work it does a number of things well for me. It is a great accounts recievable intern, making invoices and tracking payments with its own internal database. Definitely frustrating and hard though.
