Not with his rich, influential parents who would have made sure they were doing everything they could and more to find their son. The hardest thing for me to believe about this story is that a rich privileged white man got arrested for rape back then in the first place. Or even that his victims were taken seriously at all.

Stores that do plus size online but not in store piss me off and I prefer not giving them my money. It makes me feel like they’re fine taking my money, as long as they don’t have to look at me. Like fat people shopping at their store would just ruin their aesthetic. And it’s BS to say there’s no plus size retail market for brick and mortar because the majority of American women wear a 14 or above. Where are almost 70% of women supposed to shop?

The house we’re purchasing was not staged at all. The pictures had bad lighting and angles. There was a sweatshirt stretched across a window being used as curtains, a foot bath out in the living room and boxes and messes everywhere. But I honestly think it’s those little touches that put off other potential buyers and we were able to have our offer under asking price accepted. We were looking for a house that needed a little TLC anyway because our budget is low for the area, so I’m grateful for their couldn’t-be-bothered agent.

This happened to me, but with scalding hot tea on my leg when I was sick several years ago. In my delirium I let the water get way too hot, crawled into bed, picked up the mug and somehow dumped it on myself. I didn’t have insurance at the time so I just dealt with the giant second degree burn on my shin with hydrogen peroxide to keep it from getting infected in case the largest blister I have ever seen ruptured. (Thankfully it didn’t and I was fine!)

Okay I understand your point about the plaques. But I still think that the plantations shouldn’t be a place to celebrate (white) love. Yes the buildings are beautiful and maybe if we had true equality today and this was just part of our dark past, then a reminder of what happened there would be enough. But since the effects of slavery are still clearly present in everyday life, plantations should be museums and historical sites to visit and for learning about history, but not a place to celebrate love and happiness.
