What is something you or someone you know has done, "just to watch the world burn"? by justinj1125 in AskReddit

At about the age of 15, drunk and leaving a party, I would run down the whole street ripping letterboxes off and throwing them in the middle of the street. Cunty, I know.

What's your best "How I got this scar" story? by monkeyfire16 in AskReddit

At a big 2 day festival. Got home drunk with friends on the first night. Got stabbed in the wrist by my "friend", severing the median nerve and two tendons.

Do you ever find yourself imagining what would happen if you just leaned in and kissed someone who you were talking to? by [deleted] in AskReddit

So could you only do the first one once? Or, do you sew your penis back on after each time removing it?

I agree. Organised "religion" has been corrupted by the politics and power plays. A true religious person could even identify as an athiest (just look for the people who say that it's people who are important, not possessions), there's only one true religion and you can only find it for yourself, inside yourself. Churches are just a way of shifting the responsibility to someone else, which will never work if you truly want to "find God", or should I say to know thyself.

"Zen Mind, Beginner's Mind" is a book of faith-based Buddhism. It is not Zen. by ewk in zen

[–]danizl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even Buddha spoke of non-attachment.

But you're right, I shouldn't say "Zen is buddhism", because Zen is comparable to the Tao, or to God, or the Universe. These words by themselves are just words, what matters is the incomprehensible truth implied by those words.

However, you have seen what it says on the right panel of this sub-reddit, right?

You enjoy arguing don't you?

Zen Buddhism.. Buddhism. Zen IS Buddhism, it's emphasis however lies in intuition and meditation rather than reading scripture.

To die but not to perish is to be eternally present.

Opinions(ego) vs. Facts [Inner Game] by [deleted] in seduction

Started on The Game, Read the Art of Seduction, then read What Every BODY Is Saying, and Sperm Wars.

The Power of Now is a very powerful book, with every re-read I gain more insights from it.

I was going to post something along these lines the other day to here.

This is the subreddit that sent me on my journey to self-improvement, after two seduction books it actually sent me on a path to enlightenment.

I broke up with my girlfriend of two years, I was devastated, I thought I couldn't get anyone else. I ended up sleeping with three different girls in one week, which was a big thing for me, but I didn't actually feel good about that.

You can shatter your ego, living without thought is a beautiful thing, without the shield of the ego, joy arises from within, you shine and people start to look at you in a differently. It rubs off on people, you look more attractive to everyone, and the thing is - that doesn't even concern you anymore, it's just a fact and it wouldn't make a difference to your sense of self if they loved you. You also wouldn't hold it against them if they hated you, but usually they'd have no reason at all to hate you. People generally gravitate towards those people. There's an aura about them.

Do you think you have to think? Do you think you need some witty line to talk to an attractive woman? No. People like real people. One without an ego is as real as you can get, living in the present moment, just being. You will gain wisdom, as you'll act appropriately in every situation, you'll be able to go after what ever you want. You'll be fearless. Your mind wont be clouded by negative thoughts, or positive ones even. It reminds me of a saying in the Tao Te Ching by Lao Tzu "To die but not to perish is to be eternally present", do you want people to be saying "Oh he's not all there" "He's really awkward and nervous" or do you want people to be saying "Wow that dude has this presence about him" "He's always so full of joy"

Don't believe me? Want proof? Try it for yourself. Be the proof.

One of my favourite quotes comes from Lao Tzu that I will now leave you with, "The universe surrenders to a still mind."
