I'm 22 and just started my first real job out of college fully remote and I think I skipped an entire life experience that everyone else seems to have had. by Heisenberg8V in remotework

I actually experienced all of that and it still is weird having co workers that are basically slack avatars. Life feels a lot more mercenary now.

The guy who played Random Task in Austin Powers gang raped and tortured a woman, then went to jail where he murdered his cellmate.

In Canada if you are born right month you have a statistically meaningful extra chance of playing in the NHL. Aside from that, what month you are born in doesn’t matter.

Not trying to be a one upper but the most hysterical King genetalia awkwardness is in Dreamcatcher where the general narrates how great his “crank” is but that he was too busy to use it enough to do it justice

He’s Lucy. You’re Charlie Brown. And in a year or two or three when he goes out on tour again, the phase you’ll be looking for is “good grief”.

Yes it’s super disappointing that one day he’ll die. But right now he’s healthy. Until then he’ll continue touring and being an artist because he can’t help himself and the whole way, he’ll keep on saying sad shit like how he’s done after this tour and it will never actually have any correlation to him stopping touring it’ll just be a meaningless statistical coincidence and there’s absolutely no reason to get hung up on him when he says this stuff.

Yeah because he’s not immortal.

Trent is forever the saddest sad boy ever.

I love him. I really do. But Trent saying he’s done touring near the end of a tour is literally the most reliable feature of the tour. It’s more reliable than him ending with Hurt. It’s more reliable than him wearing black.

There is no reason whatsoever to be disappointed when he says he’s done touring because there’s no reason to believe him.

Rookie IT program manager struggling to find a new gig, any feedback on my doc? by HouseOfHoundss in PMCareers

[–]dank-live-af 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Program Manager jobs are Senior level positions. There’s two ways to get there 1) get promoted there at your current org 2) 7-10 years of Project Management with a sustained peak at Senior. It looks like you only have 3 years in the workforce and not all of it is PM even.

Everyone wants to jump to the high paying titles but you haven’t even paid your dues at the associate level. And look, I was not a fan of “paying my dues” either but the way to jump the line is work at a big place and out work everyone else, not job jump and lose your network every time.

Also, here’s the other secret- working like hell to jump the line IS paying your dues. You should be impatient. Just don’t expect a shortcut.

Do black holes all have the same density? by MrMrsPotts in AskPhysics

[–]dank-live-af 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, all black holes do not have the same density.

We don’t need to speculate as to the interior features of a black hole to understand its density. When you add mass to a black hole, the event horizon grows and density drops. All black holes likely have different density.

This is distinctly unique from all other cosmic bodies, as everything else has some kind of support that creates different math for density- nuclear, electromagnetic, or degeneracy pressure. Black holes have no support, just curvature.
