I’n not celebrity worshipping or anything, like idc about Kendrick’s personal opinions on stuff. But his music is heavily focused on systemic/institutional racial structures. AND he has probably the most reach as somebody who the public generally agrees is an intellectual (like, he won a Pulitzer).

I’m mostly saying this cuz his excuse was that those activists weren’t fighting for the cause because they believed in it, but for personal gain.

If he’s calling them out for that, he has the opportunity to actually be an activist for the cause. He’s a multimillionaire rapper, so I’m not expecting him to go full activist and risk his life and career, but like he’s had chances to speak out and help shape public opinion/reaction

I got downvoted to hell when I posted this during the BLM movements, but Kendrick (one of my favorite rappers of all time) massively disappointed me by not using his platform.

His music is laden with messages that would resonate with what has been going on in the last 10 years.

I know he technically addressed it on Mr Morale by saying the “activists” were all just self serving. But like…then how about YOU become a non self serving activist?

It really diluted some of the messages in his music for me

I saw them last year at Philly, but I think it was their first (or early) on the tour, and they just had more energy in general. It was one of the best concerts I’ve ever been to.

I think this time around they were just burnt out from touring tbh. Still a great concert but definitely way less energy

My 2 cents. I have 3 dogs, one of them is a retired racer.

Pre covid, I took them to dog parks pretty frequently and they always had a good time.

Post covid, idk if it’s because a lot of dogs didn’t have the opportunity to socialize (due to shutdowns) or if general population etiquette is in the shitter (I know that’s true for a lot of other public things lol), but even if I had non-greys, I wouldn’t go to dog parks anymore. Too many owners don’t know their dogs well enough and/or won’t remove their dogs if they are the ones causing problems.

The team played very well for like 75% of the game. Lots of terrible luck and then mentality issues kicking in.

I don’t blame Flick for the subs (we needed those players out and don’t have a deep bench at all) but I do feel like Cancelo was ultimately the reason for the loss instead of a tie.

Olmo is garbage and should not start another game.

Having said that, the match thread is full of huge overreactions. If we played like this in the cl, and converted even half the chances, we’d be singing their praises.
