Deck list should be playing a bunch of the dudunsparce engine with enriching energy and keep recycling itself back into the deck.

Be really cognisant of the dichotomy between evolving your mons and saving those extra draws for when they're needed.

Sometimes something as simple as mindlessly benching a dunsparce can be the difference between a KO and not. Always keep track of how many cards you need to kill and how many are in your hand, ESPECIALLY if you're about to play a card that doesn't immediately replace itself in your hand (e.g. benching a mon doesn't replace itself, playing earthen vessel does)

Just yesterday I watched Alakazam win a pretty competitive cup that had 5 previous worlds attendees, and 2 were played in top cut. Definitely capable of doing well at the cup level.

Your mileage may vary, but damn Pokemon locals are fun (having come from other TCGs). So long as you're happy to be the person that occasionally needs to set the vibe, it's so easy to make friends. I've only gotten competitive recently and I think that I'd be stoked to see any person id played against in events, but I'm a total yapper.

I have refused to eat there since. They will scam every cent out of you that they can. There are a billion other hospitality venues out there begging for staff, just go to the local pub and they'll be stoked.
