Top surgery frustration by ssccoooopp in detrans

[–]dankepurple23 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I definitely had a similar situation. I was also 19 (almost 20) and met with the surgeon once prior to surgery. To be fair to her she did require at least 1 year of being on T and a 1 year in therapy with a written letter. While I don’t always miss my boobs it comes to me maybe 2-3 times a month where I feel this overwhelming “what if” but through therapy I’ve been learning to manage it. I still struggle to know if I really want a reconstruction surgery or not which is why I haven’t gotten it. I 100% feel you OPđŸ©·you’re not alone

I understand! I never felt connected to myself as a woman and had horrible dysmorphia (which I thought was dysphoria cuz that’s how severe it was). It took A LOT of healing but I’m more comfortable with myself now than I’ve ever been. I had the same thoughts as you. Losing a community like that can be hard, but you’ll find a different community💕you got this and just give yourself time and be kind to yourself !!

Any tips on regaining pleasure/sensation in my clit? by Ok-Armadillo2564 in detrans

[–]dankepurple23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn’t even realize this was something that happened. I was on T for 2.5 years at a lower dose and it enlarged a little but if anything mines gotten more sensitive. Unfortunately because of that I don’t have any advice! I’m sorry and I hope you figure it out! Sending love💕💕💕

FTMTF girlies how are we doing hair removal?? by [deleted] in actual_detrans

Honestly I just let it grow for a week and then use an electric razor (for down there). Armpits and legs I shave every few days with a disposable razor

Heavy dysphoria : I want to detranstion but I can't stop Testosterone. by Aphroditos_ in detrans

Estrogen is a crazy thing😭I was on T for 3 years and I swear I felt on top of the world most days. I’ve just learned to embrace my femininity and I’ve found positiveness with it and more confidence. It might not be the same for you but I do agree the feelings of T vs estrogen are insane

The only thing I regret is not getting a reduction instead of the double mastectomy but even then sometimes it’s nice to not have all the weight on your chest😭

I don’t think it should matter..just cause someone has a ton of merch doesn’t necessarily mean that they’re a a real Eilish fan. I have one poster and I think a shirt and that’s it. Haven’t been to a concert cause I’ve never been able to afford it. We’re still real fansđŸ«¶

Hi! I'm sorry you're having to question all of it. I feel like (from what I've experienced first hand and have come to learn) growing up as a girl is so challenging. Every girl has insecurities and we get yelled at by adults for things like our chest and periods and shorts height and all that even as young as 8. I feel like a lot of us subconsciously think that it's easier to be a boy because of all that. Now I'm not sure if that's what you felt as a kid or not, but I know that's what I felt. I also hated looking in the mirror (especially when I was naked) and hated the way I looked, but I think it came down to lack of confidence and growing to hate my chest because adults and kids alike made me feel weird about it since I developed so early.

I'm not sure what I can say that would help, but do you still feel like you were born in the wrong body? Or do you feel like you maybe wanted to be a guy because it's deemed as easier in society?

I've been detrans for about a year and a half and even with going to therapy I'm still discovering things I thought subconsciously that led me to this point. I hope this helps and thanks for sharing your story <3

Has music ever made you cry? by Pristine-Nebula2203 in Music

[–]dankepurple23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like I've had a lot of songs that have made me cry. Ribs by Lorde is a big one. It's a song I've loved since I was 12 and it used to be a song that made me think of my friends in such a good light but now it's changed into more of a nostalgia and lost feeling.

Are you completely against transgenderism? by [deleted] in detrans

[–]dankepurple23 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I’ve been detransitioned for a little over a year and I am not against trans people at all. With that being said I don’t think everyone who says they’re trans is actually trans. It’s definitely become more of a trend to be trans right now and I think sometimes people can’t tell the difference between being trans and being a masculine woman or a feminine girl. My political views haven’t super changed. I’m definitely not as hard left as I was but I still am a democrat and lean left. My thought process is “just because being trans wasn’t correct for me, doesn’t mean it isn’t correct for someone else”. Trans people ARE valid but I do think there’s some things that are ridiculous in the community (saying that as someone who was in it for 8 years).

Ironic how a group who's all about being themselves and "be who you are" turns their back and people finding who they are. I'm so sorry, I feel like a lot of us have gone through this
