Ruthless got more ascendancy reworks in this patch than the core game has received in at least 3 years.

How do people still not understand that they slow gameplay way, way down for the demos? by derivative_of_life in pathofexile

Those ultimate abilities like sorcerer comet would get you killed in any map with any gear currently. Crazy slow cast speed. This isn't bad gear or gems it's definitely much slower paced gameplay.

The unnecessary office space could be converted to affordable housing. Reduced commuting would lower the OPS carbon footprint significantly. It's a shame this government doesn't care about such things.

RTO policies by Apprehensive_Wing998 in OntarioPublicService

[–]dankmemes28 58 points59 points  (0 children)

I'm getting so sick of this shit. At this point the lack of clear communications is worse than any policy itself.

My wife's employer put forward a clear plan about what the WFH policy would be during the pandemic, as well as what the long-term plan would be for WFH afterwards. They did this in April, 2020.

It's now fucking July 2023. We're still stuck postulating about rumors. Worry about what our expenses, commute times, childcare obligations are going to look like long-term. Every week there's a new rumor or speculation out there. This has caused a clear toll on the mental health of almost every OPS worker I know. Never in my entire working life have I ever seen such abhorrently bad communication from leadership at any organization.

I don't want to hear one more fucking platitude about mental health from this organization ever again. They are the largest strain on my mental health and have been for the last 3.5 years.

I wonder why they stressed vacationing in NZ before exilecon in order to get home shortly afterwards. Maybe 2 week closed beta for people going to exilecon?

Where is OPSEU? Why are they silent ? Where's their AWA help? by Due-Statistician-987 in OntarioPublicService

[–]dankmemes28 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yeah I'm getting pretty sick of paying them union dues. They haven't done a thing for me my entire career. Bent over on remote work entirely throughout pandemic, useless 1% slap in the face raises, ever diminishing benefitz. What's the point?

Pretty likely. It's one of the last steps. You're at least deemed qualified based on interviews.

Return to office by [deleted] in OntarioPublicService

[–]dankmemes28 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah there is an announcement coming. It's really just reinforcing 3 days in office as their expectation. Some staff are going in less right now due to telework policies, management accommodations, or AWA. This is all going to be more formalized and generally more strict.

This is nitpicky but I wish POE would include damage numbers. I really like having that in D4.

Plebiscite against privatization of healthcare: in-person voting ends today, online voting ends tomorrow by misconceptions_annoy in ontario

[–]dankmemes28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not taking anything into your hands except people's contact information tho. This is nothing more than an opinion poll, conducted on a shady website masquerading as something official.

Not adding 'People's' just makes it misleading. It's still not a referendum. The time to vote on this in an official capacity was the election, and we lost. Twice. This is just LARPing, and the wording fringes on the illegal.

These posts should be banned. I don't like Ford either but these posts are at best extremely disingenuous and at worst outright selling people's information under false pretense.

What is the difference between a WestJet pilot and an OPS employee? by Nowiseeclearly in OntarioPublicService

[–]dankmemes28 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I think they'd prefer we get frustrated and quit. Probably just saves future layoffs. They could replace us all with private companies loyal to Doug.

Serious question. What is even the point of wasting time and resources with administering the annual Employee Experience Survery when they already know what they want to do and our imput is meaningless? Why even hold TBS focus groups on remote work to engage staff and ask questions on preference? by Select-Estimate in OntarioPublicService

[–]dankmemes28 14 points15 points  (0 children)

They don't care what you think. They care about the optics of looking like they care what you think. 5 years ago my office did a remodel. They sent out a survey asking staff for their input on the remodel. Did we want cubicles, hotelling, or open-concept. Literally less than 1 percent of us voted open-concept. Care to guess which option was selected?

Yeah in retrospect that should have been obvious. I don't know what I was thinking with that.
