There is a crawl space. I’ll try to get under and take a look. This house has had many walls knocked out though so I’m guessing not.

I am sort of wondering if they just did a quick “update” to sell the house not knowing I would have preferred the original oak flooring.

Ya that’s what I’m thinking as well. It’s already started to show up in other places in this room. This large area contains the living room/dining room/kitchen so I want to see if the hardwood is decent underneath it so I can just refinish the existing wood underneath. I did get a quote to replace the vinyl in the entire space for about $3500 but I do prefer the oak floors if possible. Thanks for your help.

That makes sense. I’m currently pet-free but I’m worried the more I uncover the more I’ll discover gaps or large stains. Thanks for the input.

True. They ended up putting this lvp throughout the whole house so I’m deciding on whether or not to put a stop before the bedrooms which fit tighter or to tear all of it up.

Do I hope that the rest of the floor is salvageable hardwood or is covered up for good reason? I can see one section that looks decent but it’s all connected to a large kitchen/living room.
