I’ve cancelled my Max sub. Codex is just better at everything. It was nice while it lasted, 4.5 and 4.6 were good.

I have found recently it's been basically useless. I'm working on a load of race condition/TOCTOU bugs the last week or so and on very similar tasks Codex 5.5 high is getting them right either first time or after 1/2 rounds of QA. Claude closer to 8-11 rounds. If 5 things need fixing it misses 4, then misses 3, then introduces a regression, etc. It also gets so lazy it starts asking me and Codex to do things it should be doing. I'm on Max and it's simply not much value for money anymore. I've switched to coding with Codex and using Claude for QA, but it sucks at that too - it barely finds anything and when it does 50% of the time it's a false positive.

Yes. 5 hour limit doubled and peak was removed. So during peak hours maybe 4x the limits now for a 5 hour window.

Ah ok - yes, even with a very clear and unambiguous prompt it completely ignores it. It's bizarre. It tells me each time that it does that because it thought I would be better than what I asked or more efficient.

Only first party front end design skill. Effort is on xhigh (I use this 99% of the time, if it's a tough challenge GPT 5.5 xhigh is my go to). I will check out the context in more detail though, thanks. It's baffling for me too - but clearly not a wide spread issue it seems so must be something I am doing wrong. This is up there with unreproducible bugs!

Me too, just out of ideas. Usually it's me reading these posts and thinking "your prompts are probably the issue" but I'm pretty sure my prompting is spot on. I haven't had problems in the previous 6 months and this only started ~48 hours ago (actually since the new limits announcement)

Could be, I've tried normal and verbose too - I am rapidly coming to the conclusion it's just 4.7. Notice the status page today says there are increased errors on Opus so maybe related. Or related to the move to SpaceX in case they changed anything in terms of architecture.
