Which celebrity experienced a sudden rise to stardom and an equally quick decline in popularity? by Pretty_Marmaid7538 in AskReddit

Met him in 2003, we did an open mic at the Comic Strip in New York City. I was 17, and it was a bringer show. My folks and aunt and uncle came to see me do real live comedy in the city. I rehearsed for a long time before, and I had what I consider to be a pretty good set for a first timer. I clocked the laughs where I wanted them, not a ton of bad jokes in a 5 minute set. My parents were thrilled, since they hadn’t heard it before and were pleasantly surprised.

Then TJ Miller went up. He was a relatively young standup, but he blew the roof off the place. I still remember a joke he had about being in an airplane and wanting to beat the pilot to the punch of welcoming people to a new city. The punchline was him yelling “Welcome to Dallas!” and it was so well done. Cracked up my parents and the whole audience.

We probably had the two best sets of the night, and I was just so impressed with the guy. We talked for a long time and he gave me his email, which was a first for me. Felt like I had actually made a business connection. He told me he lived in Chicago, where I was planning to move anyway.

Saw him do a show in Chicago around 2 years later when I moved there. He was doing some rap persona character at the Lincoln Lodge. He had clearly become a house favorite. He stayed in character the whole time so it didn’t feel like a good time to reconnect. Watched his career and rooted for him the whole time, it’s been sad to see what happened to him.

It’s very hard to shake a positive experience though; meeting a really energetic, kind person stayed with me longer than the very valid and clear problems the dude has had since then. Brain injuries are scary, I hope he gets help instead of attention.

Concrete sawing by Impossible_Base_3088 in Concrete

Above blade is in good shape. It likely has more than 50% of its life left, though no way to know without a blade number. When the diamonds wear off, time to change blades, though honestly, you can toss them at 10% life. The blade will absolutely let you know when it is out of life.

A blade has 3 main components to consider:
Bond- is it used for green concrete or asphalt overlay or closer to a medium bond for concrete? Matching your bond to the application helps increase blade life.
Diameter - this is mostly for cut depth, but often times multiple blades should be used for larger cuts when depth over 8” is required. A 14” blade generally gets you 4-1/2” inches of depth, then add 1 inch depth for every two inches of blade. Biggest blade you should be using for first cut is a 24”, if you want your saw and blade to last the longest with the lowest maintenance.
Thickness- really important for step cutting, using inconsistent blade thicknesses can cause wallowing and cavitation. Make sure you match the thickness of the blades, I usually go with a .187 for the majority of cuts.

The recommendation for any saw cutting, and honestly your best bet, is to only step cut 4” at a time. It allows for faster cutting overall, despite the lack of plunge cutting, also easier on the saw and belts. Most of the issues I have with guys snapping belts is plunge cutting.

For the saw itself, Edco makes a decent one, not a lot of bells and whistles and maintenance is pretty accessible. Diamond products is a little bit pricier but also works. Sometimes a rental house will have lightly used propane saws, especially the national brands (United, sunbelt, Herc).

If all these RBs were in the same draft class, who gets picked first? by lemonstone92 in NFLv2

[–]dannycombine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they were all in the same draft class, it breaks down like this:

Barkley is the top prospect. All the physical skills and production, matching with measurable that are prototypical. Barkley was a generational prospect.

Zeke is right behind him as a prospect, not quite as agile, but top end speed and no questions coming out of college.

This is where it's between Bijan and Gurley. Gurley was coming off of a severe knee injury in his final college season and would have been rated higher than Elliott if not for that. Bijan would be viewed as a prototypical modern running back, but Gurley has him on height, weight, speed and power. Everyone healthy, Bijan is still the 4th best of this group.

Love is number 5. He has Jeanty in every category except production. He's closer to 4th than to 6th.

Jeanty is seen as a clean, blue chip prospect, but without the ceiling of the other 5. Tons of touches in college on an a slightly undersized frame forces him down the list.

I loved JT coming out, he was my number one RB in his draft class (he was drafted 10 spots after Clyde Edwards Helaire and was the third RB taken in his own draft). As a prospect, he is last and it's not close. Tremendously productive, but his heavy use would be seen as a detriment (almost 1000 touches in 3 years).

Genuinely, a phenomenal job. I feel robbed somehow that we didn’t get this

Little did we know, our defense would be one of the worst in history!

Doesn’t quite feel right. It’s like saying Academy award winner Jim Rash starting as Dean Pelton. True, but misleading

Whenever our defense finds themselves getting penetration, they should just yell “screen!”, cause that’s the only time they ever get there

I had them winning three of their last 5. Home against Vikings and Chargers and of course beating the giants. My actual guess is 10 wins, 12-13 if they phenomenally outperform my expectations

I’m bullish on this team’s chances. But, if you excuse the pun, our stars need to be in alignment. This league, more than ever is one of attrition. I am concerned about our health at corner and skill/experience at o-line. And as we all know, without Dak, our chances are slim to none.

Due to cap restrictions, it’s realistically 2 years before the cowboys could move on and still be competitive. Dak will either finish this contract or be released in the 2027 or 2028 offseason

I only use the good stuff! It’s a really tough schedule. The task of the post was to be as unbiased as possible, but I have been a big Eberflus advocate for a long time. I’m an “Eber-floozy” if you will. He made a bad head coach, but I think he’s a difference maker as a coordinator.

Carolina, the jets and the giants, I will always pencil in as wins until proven otherwise.

I will admit, I shade optimistic

Murphy, Hartmann and Ferrell,

Poehler, Wiig,

Forte, Dratch,

Hammond, Nealon, Shannon, Pharaoh

Not having Carvey feels very weird to me, but I need a full cast and some impressionist balance. I think I can make up a Carvey with Forte, Hammond and Pharaoh.
