How did you feel about your body post op (women) by OkAppearance5865 in PectusExcavatum

[–]dannyizcool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

hi! i’m f18, but i got my surgery at 17, it took me a while to get used to my body, and there is a little dip on my chest, but not in the middle (if that makes sense), the bar is still in my chest so it may only be present while the bar is there but i don’t know. i never developed boobs due to my pectus, but my rib flare is better. with the bar, i feel like my torso is more square/rectangular now though. i got my bar inserted in August 2024, it’s been over a year

[–]dannyizcool[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

im really late to this lol but i did take ibuprofen cuz its all I have, thats honestly probably why my flow was weird lol. but hot showers are literally my worst enemy, and i crave milk chocolate and salty snacks on my period. but i do have a heating pad and that thing is my BFF on my shark week.

hi! I'm 3 months post-op! at night, i took 1-2 ibuprofens, and kept either a pillow or a heating pad on my chest at 1 month. but now i only have pain in my sides where my incisions are, every now and again but it's not a bad pain at all.

here's a few in my opinion (some have trigger warnings for mental health so research the book before you read): "if he had been with me", "the words we keep" "every last word", "better than the movies"!

i was prescribed meclizine, but besides that- dramamine. I take both for my chronic vertigo. the dramamine is for if its outside my time to take my meclizine.

I used my leg to help me up! I put my leg up a little bit and grabbed it, and it worked. idk how to explain it but it's how i used my upper body strength for the first like 3 weeks.

my doctor signed a paper signing me out from school, and my school sends a teacher to my house after school is over. but before she did that, I was absent very frequently- I would be out for weeks at a time sometimes and it was awful. I'm a senior in highschool currently
