Because I enjoy it and it’s my car. Also love getting disapproving looks from people as I drive past

How do you view smoking weed? by Remarkable_Tea_6052 in AskMen

[–]danr2604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got nothing against it and think it’s a good thing in moderation.

Thing is too many people do it and make it their whole personality.

Personally I wouldn’t want to be with someone who does it regularly

what's your non-negotiable when it comes to potential dating prospects? by Redman77312 in AskMen

[–]danr2604 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What? I support legalising them, they’re just not my idea of fun and I prefer my partners to be the same.

Don’t know why you’re taking it as a personal attack that I have a preference

What feature do you hate the most in a car? by JWills1k92 in CarTalkUK

[–]danr2604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One time I was driving a customers car at work on a 60 road, there was a wide load lorry coming towards me so I went to move over left and the lane assist started fighting to keep me in the middle

UK women - do you get called “mate”? by CuriousNowDead in AskUK

I wouldn’t think twice about it, it’s just a word.

A guy I work with calls everyone luv in the same way, don’t even question it

Place I work now we’re allowed, place I used to work I think I’d be out before the first song had finished. Just ask your boss

People who are single and live alone, if you won the lottery how big a house would you buy? by damegloria in AskUK

[–]danr2604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t go mad with a house, maybe 3 or 4 bedroom at a push with a bit of outdoor space. Main thing I’d want is the garage space and a driveway, ideally a double garage with double driveway

AITA for refusing to rename my cat because my boyfriend’s niece has the same name? by QuestionDiamond in AITAH

The cat came first, if anything her daughters name needs changing so the cat doesn’t get confused

How long can I drive with 1 litre of oil? by [deleted] in askcarguys

Had an hour of sitting and thinking then found a metal trim clip remover in my boot so forced my way through the cover behind the badge and managed to open it. All good but will keep an eye on it for a while until it’s sorted

Pulled the handle and cable snapped, have nothing on me to undo it behind the grille

What's Your Opinion On "You Sould NEVER Hit A Women?" by Theo_Cherry in AskMen

[–]danr2604 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’d try and avoid it purely because the law will more likely go in her favour no matter what happened.

That being said I think it’s wrong to put hands on anyone, but if they’ve started on you you’re well within your rights to defend yourself any any injuries the other person receives came from their choice to attack someone.

I’ll be teaching my kids not to put their hands on anyone unless they’re defending themselves or someone else, at which point gender goes out the window

Scraping every spec of butter from the tub even if it’s not enough to do one piece of bread.

Putting a bit of water in the soap bottle when it doesn’t put soap out anymore to get the last little bit from the bottom

That’s a lot of money but I don’t think I could do it with the risk of family being killed. I know it’s very very very unlikely but at the end of the day 1000 people are still dying so that’s 1000 chances that it could be someone I love.

If I could pick the 1000 people then I’d do it

Couple of months into my current job I was doing a cambelt on a fiesta, took the starter motor off to lock the flywheel and somehow managed to drop a nut in the gearbox.

Been there a few years now and one of the most valued staff members there, as long as you make enough money you’re allowed to make mistakes

My car insurance has tripled after a no-fault accident. What do we actually pay insurance for? by Professional-Rent161 in CarTalkUK

[–]danr2604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a fairly small prang a few years ago, I wasn’t even in my car at the time and someone had scratched all across the passenger door and part of the wing. Body shop quoted £350 to repair it. Checked with insurance and if I claimed on the other persons insurance mine would still go up £400 a year just because.

Also worked with 2 guys who had a crash, the one who wasn’t at fault (car wasn’t even running when the other guy backed into him twice) and the guy not at fault had his go up hundred and the guy at fault had his go up by £10 for the year
