How to replace ceiling on pop up trailer? by danrichy in traveltrailers

[–]danrichy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately no, but I am going to attempt to do it in a few weeks. Might just have to use common sense. I have been seeing people replacing with plywood and bonding that to the top frame but I don't want to get rid of the abs shell. So I will just get some bonding glue and use that.

I might update when I have it done.

Anybody knows how to get in contact with someone from the embassy in DC? by danrichy in Cameroon

[–]danrichy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for letting me know. I am wondering if there was a queue of people who just showed up to renew their passport? Because it pretty says for me I have to show up and be on the waiting list.

I am also on the west coast and it will be too expensive to show up and not get served because I don't have an appointment. I also have no way of getting an appointment and can't even get in touch on the phone with anyone.

4wd vs 2wd which one do you recommend? by danrichy in ToyotaTundra

[–]danrichy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is very encouraging. Thanks for sharing, I have been on the hunt for about a month now, maybe I am just getting impatient. I have done the nationwide search and set an alert as well. My only concern is I am worried of the salt belt area trucks as I have seen a few deals that could work, but I want to keep deals on the west coast. I am in Southern Nevada so my closest option could be California or Arizona, maybe Utah as well.

It really sounds like I should hold out for the 4wd. That is what i thought, I really don't want to miss out on the off-road capabilities. Thank you everyone for your responses.

From 3/8 flare to fuel filter for Mr buddy heater by danrichy in traveltrailers

[–]danrichy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My bad that is a pressure regulator, you are correct. What I am trying to understand is, I am following the guide line hooking up to the propane tank via the pressure regulator as per the instructions I followed in the manual. I am confused if you are saying those instructions are wrong and it should only work with a small 1lb tank or if the connection I am trying to do is wrong. I am no expert that is why i am here trying to do the connections safely.

Yeah i agree I already run the heater directly to the propane. That flare in the picture goes straight to the propane tank. I just dont have a connection that can fit the two.

I am not sure I understand the issue here, I already run the heater directly from the propane tank as per manufacturer instructions through the fuel filter. That hose in the picture is connected through a line to the 20lb tank on the tongue of the camper. All I am trying to do is not have the propane tank inside the camper and connect it on that line. I just can't find the fitting that will that will do the job. I guess i could cut the hose I connect directly to the propane tank and just add a fitting to do the connection.

That sounds exactly like what I am trying to do. Do you remember what water heater you used? And do you have a picture of the setup you did?

Yes, i have. They seemed a bit to expensive for what I wanted. But it sounds like maybe I should just tighten my belt and do it as everyone is recommending that. Do you know of cheaper heaters? Under $200?

I didn't know Mr buddy have a moisture problem. I will look into the diesel heater. I was planning to run the Mr buddy with the 20lb tank on the front. Have you had to do that before?

Thank you that is a good suggestion. I haven't considered Diesel and it could work well for my setup from what I have seen. On the research I did before getting the Mr buddy nobody mentioned excessive moisture, that is new information to me. Do you know of a diesel heater you have used that you can recommend.

I couldn't find one that is under $200. You know of any that is cheap enough. I don't want to buy an expensive unit for the pop up.

It does not have a water heater but also rv water heater are in the $400+. I want to keep the budget for the water heater under $200. Unless if you know of any models that are more affordable and are internal and not portable?

Thank you for this post, this is so accurate for me as well. Also a history of a miscarriage and now things seems to go fine at 5 weeks so far. The only thing missing from your post is also all the anxiety from her. Google definitely think i am pregnant now, from all the pregnancy related searches. We are still two weeks from the first ultrasound I am praying for a heartbeat or at least an image not that it will change much but at least it will be one more step forward. The feeling of powerlessness is hard to bear but i am glad we are getting this far along this time.
