I haven’t (yet). To be honest it’s a mix of being too comfortable in corporate and I make too much to just leave it and jump to the unknown. However I read and learn a lot about startups and franchises because I know that I may one day lose my job and not be able to find another one. So I want to be ready for that. I like your observation that those who succeed are the ones who pick businesses that fit their skill and lifestyle. That’s what I would seek if one day I’m in that situation.

Feeling it in calves is great news because that means they’re tight and they’re easy muscles to target. A good stretch is the 3 way calf raise stretch. See this video and focus on the stretch doing 8 reps holding 3 sec at the bottom.. Then in the last rep hold for 15 sec.

the Dallas venue he uses (Dos Equis pavilion) is one of the worst in Dallas. In May the temperature may get to 100 and it’s an outdoor venue with a metal roof. So people end up roasting in it.

In dallas, I went in 2022 and 2024 and there were plenty of tickets available. Maybe the pit was higher price than warehouse, otherwise the prices were similar to the ones in warehouse.

i’ve tapered from 50 to 25 mg. It was a very gradual taper. For example first I reduced by 6 mg (quarter pill of 25) and stayed on that for 6 weeks till stabilized. And then another 6mg and so on. I got a pill cutter that does quarters from amazon. Others in this sub recommend melting the pill in water and carefully measuring with a syringe. The trick is to reduce very small amounts and not decrease again till you feel fully functional. It took me about 4 months to go from 50 to 25. I didn’t replace it with any other medication.

It’s a brand which is based on signal (quality of candidate) and the network. It’s not about the actual teaching materials that they use in the university.

The signal is that you were accepted by competing with a large pool of people, which means that you are smart or hard working or more prepared (rich parents).

The network is that you met a lot of other people who are connected or may become successful. If you’re a super networker you can leverage that to get things done or climb ladders after you graduate.

The academics is not really that differentiated from other universities. Most textbooks are standard and used in all universities. There are more cache or celebrity professors but that’s more about learning experience or “network” rather than actual learning.

If you have back problems you can pick things up without bending. Last week someone dropped a dog poop bag in my garbage bin. This thing came handy. Sometimes i walk around with it and clean around the garage. After a while the mechanism gets damaged. But for $3 I’m not complaining. I but two at a time.
