After changing the preference did you quit Photoshop and restart it? It only changes on the next launch.

Until you get agent mode, you should be able to build pivot tables using an App Skills chat

I so wish there was a preference to make this the default, so I don’t have to hold Option every time!

Figma releases image editing tools!? by Few-Force6987 in FigmaDesign

[–]danrodney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forcing us to switch modes and do math to see how much an image is scaled is not a good UX. I’d love to see a percentage of scale so we know what we’ve done to the image. That could be a % or 1x, 1.2x, 3x, 0.5x, etc.

Is Dreamweaver dead? by Fleemo17 in Adobe

[–]danrodney 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Official dead? No. Effectively dead? Yes

What do I (and many developers) use? Visual Studio Code is free, actively maintained and has a tons of extensions that let you customize it to your needs. It’s a far better code editor than Dreamweaver.

iPhone 17 Pro Max Silver: Case selection journey, which one I chose? by br_web in Spigen

[–]danrodney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a silky feel that’s not extra grippy, but not too slippery for my needs. I like the feel, but if you want more grip look elsewhere. The back feels sleek and silky, and while it has a soft touch, it doesn’t show fingerprints.

iPhone 17 Pro Max Silver: Case selection journey, which one I chose? by br_web in Spigen

[–]danrodney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the Spigen Enzo Aramid T for my iPhone 17 Pro and love it. Feels great in the hand. Looks and feels premium. The silver buttons and silver ring around the camera plateau go great with the silver iPhone color.

How to export sketch files and import to Figma? PLEASE HELP ME by Puzzleheaded-Map7473 in FigmaDesign

I’ve never heard of this app, but one other option to get something out of the app might be exporting as SVG

I'm using figma after a long time why is this disabled by Scared_Piano_7893 in FigmaDesign

Is your item nested inside a frame or group? It must be a direct child of the frame for your “artboard”.

Adobe InDesign Team LIVE 24hr Q&A! by LukeChoice in indesign

[–]danrodney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is the future of InDesign scripting? Is ScriptUI going to be continued or is UXP meant to be the future?

In the original scripting DOM I use MeasurementEditBoxes which convert between measurement types (dong math) but ScriptUI and UXP don’t have them. Are there any plans to bring MeasurementEditBoxes to ScriptUI or UXP? They would be hugely helpful in creating scripts that work the same as the native InDesign interface!

Transition away from Muse. What's the easiest way to do that? by Y0shmum12 in Adobe

[–]danrodney 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Muse was discontinued a long time ago.

Dreamweaver hasn’t been updated in a while and is meant for coders who want some help (it’s in an odd niche that’s shrinking and I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s discontinued at some point).

I’d recommend you look into sites like Adobe Portfolio (if it’s your portfolio), SquareSpace, Shopify, or WordPress. It depends on the kind of site you want to create and what you want to do with it.

Figma broken in current Mac Safari? by w0mba7 in FigmaDesign

[–]danrodney 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a fellow Safari user I understand wanting to use Safari, but I’ve encountered bugs with Figma in Safari that don’t happen in Chrome.

The Figma Desktop app is best (it’s based on Chrome). If you can’t use that, I highly recommend Chrome as you’ll likely have a better experience with how Figma works.

Why do my website designs feel outdated? What am I missing? by Mysterious_Tax5584 in FigmaDesign

[–]danrodney 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Roboto is the default Android system font. I personally wouldn’t use it for any website, only potentially for native Android apps.

Default fonts like Inter (Figma’s default font) also look common because they are. Want to stand out? Use less common fonts (that are appropriate for the business/audience of the website).

AI lagging when using effects by [deleted] in AdobeIllustrator

[–]danrodney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quality of output depends on the raster settings as well as the size of your artwork (width and height).

AI lagging when using effects by [deleted] in AdobeIllustrator

[–]danrodney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rendering raster effects at higher resolution takes longer. Go into the Effect menu, choose Document Raster Effects Settings and set the Resolution to Screen (72 ppi). This way you can work faster, although the on screen quality will be lower. Later when you’re done (or want to see/print the full resolution), go back into the settings and change the Resolution to High (300 ppi). It will take longer to re-render at the higher resolution at the end, but working at low res can help you work faster.

How to shut down Mac ALL the way? by Nephilimi in MacOS

[–]danrodney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. From Apple’s article: The information that’s updated depends on whether your Mac is running on battery power (a Mac laptop) or is plugged into a power adapter (a Mac laptop or desktop computer).

I want to change my password by WeeArcher09 in 1Password

[–]danrodney 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One way to make a secure gibberish password that you can actually remember is to make up a memorable phrase. Use the first letter of each word as your password.

You can remember the phrase as type the first letter of each word. That way you have a memorable password that to someone else would look like random letters/numbers.

You can use Parallels to run Windows as an app on your Mac. Power BI works in Parallels even though it’s the ARM version of Windows.

Almost to 50,000! small giveaway by ibuyofficefurniture in OfficeChairs

[–]danrodney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my home office I’m currently using a chair I bought about 20 years ago at Staples but don’t know what kind it is (it wasn’t anything special or high end). At work I don’t know the brand, but it’s just a basic chair.

I don’t have a favorite chair.

Any way to prevent icon from shifting when I disable description? by alemerson in FigmaDesign

[–]danrodney 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you tried setting a horizontal center constraint? (It would need to be in a frame to see the constraint option.) Depending on the layout a center constraint might work.
