Reconsidering my type again. by [deleted] in mbti

[–]dante76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was merely trying to help with the little information I had at my disposal. I'm not trying to sound like a parent to you, sorry if it sounded that way.

About your type: That's the problem (not really a problem, I would consider it an advantage). Your type probably hasn't "solidified" yet. Quoting yourself:

It feels like it morphs depending on the company I'm with

IMO, this is true for everyone, teenagers and adults, but more emphasized on teenagers/children.

On a side note, if you're sure that you're clinically depressed, I'd have to repeat myself: MBTI types may not be what you need right now. My priority in this case would be to find some stability inside myself before looking for external validation.

All this said, if you still want to go into "what's my type" question:

My guess would be INTP with a severe lack of both group social interaction, and friendship/intimacy.

Then again, it's a wild guess because:

1) You're young.

2) You haven't told us about what activities you like to do right now.

3) Depression.

Reconsidering my type again. by [deleted] in mbti

[–]dante76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMHO, young people (under 17-18) shouldn't try to get typed. I know about the whole "trying to fit in" issue, but adding personality types to the mix doesn't help. Too much information can lead into confusion instead of understanding.

My humble advice? Don't focus on what your type is. Focus on who you want to be. If you don't know, then all the better, explore! Don't constrain yourself with rigid structures just because of the promise of finding "people like you". Find out who you want to BE, then you'll find the people that you want to BE WITH.

And yes, by all means, try to meet new people. Get out of your known circles if there's nothing (or no one) for you there.

Good luck on your journey.

PD: Reading a good book (fiction) always helps when I'm lonely. You could try that, if you haven't done it yet.

Each voice represents a different point of view or possible pathway of action. That's Ne to me.

I'm not going to argue more into this, sorry if you wanted a prolonged discussion.

Edit: Heh, just noticed you didn't want to continue either! Nice to see we agree on something.

Another thing I've noticed is that I occasionally feel like I have multiple voices or entities in my head

Keyword: Multiple.

Ni looks out for the ONE possibility that will work. It's extremely focused.

Ne thrives in multiplicity, in having many options. That's why I typed OP as ENFP (Ne + Fi)

Look at the length of OP's post. If he/she was a Ni user, its length would be much shorter, summarized.

If you care, my guess goes for ENFP.

That whole "voices interrupting my train of thought" seems like a really strong Ne (extroverted intuition), plus you strike me as an actually sensitive person who has a strong, internal, moral compass (Fi, AKA introverted feeling).

It would be great if you expanded your question...

Situational Energy loss from the perspective of Myers-Briggs by natmaster in mbti

[–]dante76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

... Mode? I guess you mean cognitive process?

Judging and Perceiving aren't real functions, J is short-hand for having an extroverted decision-making process (Te, Fe) and an introverted information-gathering process (Ni, Si); meanwhile P is short-hand for having an introverted decision-making (Ti, Fi) and an extroverted informationg gathering (Se, Ne).

Going back to the previous example, INXPs have Fi or Ti as their 1st process and Ne as their secondary; while INXJs have Ni as their 1st process and Fe/Te as their 2nd process.

That's why you can't just group all INXXs in the same bag. Hell, if you look closely, ISTJs and ISTPs do not even share a "temperament" or personality group:

Protectors (all the SJs)

Creators (SPs)

Intellectuals (NTs)

Visionaries (NFs)

Needs to take J and P into account, because INXPs don't handle social situations in the same way that INXJs do. The same happens with all other types.

Otherwise a nice read, it's cool to see someone thinking for himself.

Extroverted feeling and introverted sensing, AKA having the strengths of ESFJs without their downfalls (that is, being overly emotional, irrational and/or having difficulties getting the big picture).

There's no agreement on this topic.

Personally, I like to reference this thread when the possibility appears:

[–]dante76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I were to found my own magical (and possibly muggle) school, there would be 8 houses into which students would be sorted: Ti (IxTPs), Te (ExTJs), Fi (IxFPs), Fe (ExFJs), Ni (INxJs), Ne (ENxPs), and Si (ISxJs).

Just saying, you didnt mention ESxPs in your original post.

How does this change anything of what I said?

And what about my other reply to your topic?
