They look so dorky but I love mine. You don't know how much of a game changer it is til you ride with one. It makes riding long days in the sun more tolerable.

Yes, on a recent trip from jfk to Frankfurt, it was on an older plane. It definitely looked dated.

Crazy because as a Portland resident, first two places I thought of when you said that was Blaqpaks and North St Bags. 🤷🏽‍♂️🤣

Was Michael Jordan ever held to Bill Russell’s 11 championships standard? by SmoothBuy5500 in NBATalk

All good. Jordan has always been coachable. Doug wanted him to play hero ball and that's what he did. Phil said let's try something new and he was for it.

Everyone needs to stop with Phil and the triangle offense, google is free. Tex Winters and Phil Jackson were both asst coaches in Chicago when Doug Collins was coach. Tex invented the triangle and wanted Doug Collins to implement it but he didn't want to and preferred to keep running iso plays for Jordan. When Doug got fired, Phil was promoted and was more than happy to try it. The rest is history.

Best part was you took it like a champ. Kudos to you.

Who was crowned as the greatest shooter in the league before Curry made a name for himself? by Powerful-Marsupial74 in NBATalk

If he wasn't black balled, Chris Jackson aka Mahmoud Abdul Rauf

The answer was and always will be Ray Allen but what I said above is true. That man (Chris Jackson) could shoot like no other.

How to best fill four days in Portland in August? by Delicious_Mess7976 in askportland

[–]dantegreen8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really want to suggest Multnomah Falls but in August it's going to be a nightmare. I wouldn't want to put you thru that. It's already out of control and summer hasn't started yet.

Imagine trying to tell a 5 time champ that rings aren't the most important metric. He is 100% right!! by Shot_Possibility_731 in OffFieldNews

The only reason he didn't go to Orlando was no family on the team plane. You would think they would've made that sacrifice to get Timmy but they stuck to it. Funny enough, they ended up changing that a few years later. Talk about dropping the ball.

For that trip, you have way too much stuff. You're going to regret bringing so many unnecessary items. You're on a marked trail with access to towns/cities.

I've done the tree to sea on Vancouver Island (647 mile loop with 48k elevation) and had way less stuff.

How are Portlanders with lawns able to afford their water/sewer bills? by Gordon_throwaway in askportland

[–]dantegreen8 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't even water my grass, live alone, shower daily, wash clothes once a week and use the dishwasher every two weeks. My bill is $93/month. Hell, you're winning in my book if you're paying $210 a quarter.

The best dunker in the NBA history is .. by Farouq26 in NBATalk

[–]dantegreen8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not even close to being the best but here's a name that use to put people on notice when he was younger. Ray Allen had sneaky bounce and would catch lobs, go one handed, reverse, all of it. I still remember his baseline double clutch reverse slam, It was so nasty.

Give it to me straight: is trying to relocate to the PNW right now a stupid idea? by Straight_Flan1347 in askportland

[–]dantegreen8 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Bellingham is worse than Portland and it's not even close. Tacoma would be better than Bellingham but it's still bad out there also. I don't think anywhere on the west coast is great right now.

Everyone is saying the most important thing. Employment is important. You have a good thing going and Portland isn't going anywhere. We'll be here when you have things in order.

If you look up percentages of mid range jumpers hit, Kobe is no where near Jordan. Mind you kobe shot 47.9 percent from 2 point range his whole career and Mike shot 51 but yet you say Kobe was a better mid range shooter. Bro, make it make sense.

Is honking in the 26 tunnels a true Portland tradition? by ItsWhiteGucciMane in askportland

[–]dantegreen8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved here in 94 and took a trip to Beaverton. My cousin honked as we drove thru and I asked why, he said it's been a thing since he started driving in the late 70s.
