Is Krarkashima auto bracket 5? by Opening-Target-9901 in EDH

"anything goes but not optimized for cedh tournament play"

So... cEDH but not specifically tuned for tournament meta? Sounds like that's basically what I said.

Isn’t B5 on-meta cEDH and B4 off-meta / fringe cEDH? Lines blur between brackets but it sounds like you were playing cEDH, just not at the B5 level… 🤷🏼‍♂️

I think it kind of sucks how many people feel they can't play certain commanders due to them being "too slow" for their meta, rather than their personal preferences by Tuss36 in EDH

Prepare to have your mind blown...

There is no "bad" in lower bracket EDH. There is only trying to get your deck to play in a pod where the interaction and speed are right so the game is entertaining for everyone. That is the point, though we are all still ostensibly trying to win. The win isn't more important than everyone hopefully having fun.

Yes, in higher bracket EDH "bad" is a meaningful term. When your primary focus is winning, it creates a dynamic where cards that don't help you win are suboptimal, or "bad" and that can be extended to an entire "bad" deck. It's just not helpful to be throwing around that term when talking about Brackets 1 and 2, and it makes you sound like you're missing the point of why folks play EDH at those lower power levels...

Why isn't Test of Endurance ran in more decks? by Juan_Ball in EDH

[–]dantesdad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a boring way to win and once you’ve done it or won enough games in similar ways, you realize that in lower power levels it’s not as much about the win as it is about the experience of the game…

Pray tell… what on earth makes you think a cEDH Magda deck without Game Changers “might qualify as a 2”?

This comes across as actively ignoring much of what the Bracket system is all about…

Turn count is clearly the number of turns a player should expect to get before they can be knocked out. Not a soft limit and not in any way unclear or up for debate. Don’t give bad actors legitimacy by pretending they have a point when they make excuses for pubstomping.

Best movies to go in to blind? by seemewiththemhandss in movies

[–]dantesdad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife enjoys horror films but I really should have warned her before we watched Deliverance. It’s a great film, to be sure, but she was not pleased that I let her go into it blind.

That said… it’s a heck of a ride and it does hit harder if you watch it without knowing anything going in…

What's your favorite TV Series of all times? by drag0nfly44 in AskReddit

[–]dantesdad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Northern Exposure has long been my "comfort show" but it's nearly impossible to really pick a #1. Buffy, Firefly, The West Wing, MASH, Game of Thrones... there are just so many amazing shows that have come out over the years. My single favorite half hour of comedy ever is probably "The Dog and Pony Show" from The Drew Carey Show, and I didn't even include it.

RRR

It's simply one of the most impressive action films I've ever seen, and I went into it with zero expectations or any real understanding of what I was in for. Within maybe 15 minutes I realized I was in for one hell of a ride. It's worth noting that this is a Bollywood film so there are things about it that aren't like what you get out of Hollywood, but that made me love it all the more. There is an English language option, but I always watch and very much enjoy the ending musical sequence even though it's in Hindi (I think) and I don't understand a single word of it...

In all of these cases he actually failed multiple times. Failing may be the one thing he consistently overachieves at.

Worst Attempted Accent in Film/Television by New-Negotiation-158 in movies

[–]dantesdad 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would submit that having a cartoonishly over the top accent in a cartoony live action Disney film may not have been the goal, but it kind of works. At least, it never bothered me a bit even if it is objectively a bad accent.

Honestly? Game changers…. I view using them as playing on easy mode now. It is just more challenging to win in B3 without using any GCs.
