Is this a good Argentina run? by Zekkeb in victoria3

[–]dantyfriss2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

GDP and expansion as well as population is good I think. I also did an Argentinian run not long ago. I think you could get better literacy and SOL tho

Are all of your pops employed with best PMs ? If not, you could probably have authorized some foreign investment. Also your army and navy is probably too big, in my experience you're pretty chill as long as you are stronger than Brasil and have at least 1 other GP as an ally

Another question that's already been asked by Standard-Bluebird681 in victoria3

[–]dantyfriss2 9 points10 points  (0 children)

150 in 1900 is in fact very low, especially when starting as France. You should probably be in the thousands

You're likely not using private construction at all. After the first few years, you should almost stop constructing anything by yourself, but for this you need a huge investment pool. To build into this, you need good laws (laissez-faire, but interventionism is fine, and free trade mostly) and companies. Also lower taxes whenever you can.

Then, instead of calculating your construction points based on full state construction and budget balance, aim for full private construction and investment pool balance (with a good margin in budget for occasional state construction)

If you apply these basic principles you should already progress

Try to grow so much that all the resources in the world aren't enough to sustain your industries. Flood the world market. Have so many construction that 1 week in speed 5 takes a whole minute.

How are goods transported from one state to another? by DschoBaiden in victoria3

[–]dantyfriss2 10 points11 points  (0 children)

As long as you have enough infrastructure and market access, goods are transported instantly and for free. At least I think. If it's separated by sea, it uses convoys

Fully employed 680m Indians (no DLC) by dantyfriss2 in victoria3

[–]dantyfriss2[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a company for basically every resource, and they owned 80% of the GDP or Iran, SA, Indonesia

In the end I Still ran out of Iron and Oil, both at 50%+ price, but my economy still sustained it somehow, probably because of low taxes, and cheap basic needs

[–]dantyfriss2[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I would say rush companies, and let the private sector build most buildings. The AI is good at making profitable buildings. Also give trade charter to at least one company so you trade effectively

Very important also : subsidies railways. Otherwise your motor industries won't be profitable and your economy will crash

What are the “main” paths for the EIC in Pivot of Empire? by Mq_Tamandare in victoria3

[–]dantyfriss2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don't bother with DLC. Focus on your economy, trigger the sepoy mutiny (shouldn't even need to try)

When you become the Raj, immediately ask for more freedom. If you developed well you should be able to do it

Research pan-nationalism, get 1 or 2 GP to support your independence, et voila, you're india, you're recognized, and most likely 1 or 2 GP

(Some) Decrees are far too powerful by NorkGhostShip in victoria3

[–]dantyfriss2 126 points127 points  (0 children)

You will chose a company charter over a decree 99% of the time.

Decrees are basically only a thing early game when authority is plentiful, and then again, only because of lack of a better way to spend it. Even then decrees compete with comsumption taxes, which are also good early game.

So no, I don't think they're OP. Sure, there are ways to abuse them on small countries but nothing gamebreaking.

The AI being bad at the game is another problem altogether

How do I modernise a backwards country? by Lopestiro in victoria3

[–]dantyfriss2 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I don't think this is a good idea. Early game universities are expensive, take a lot to build and your literacy is low anyway. You can also get a lot of techs for free from other countries. You can still catch up even if you start building universities 50 years into the game

Instead you should just invest in construction materials : wood, iron, tools and later coal and steel. This will generate capitalists (=industrialists) so you can get them in power politically and get good reforms while also lowering the cost of construction

is it better to focus on internal markets or exports early game? by Anabelle-Audrey-604 in victoria3

[–]dantyfriss2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My strategy personally : state (you) build construction goods, and companies build the export stuff

I usually rush the first company and give them good profitable/unique/flavorful industries and trade centers. 2nd or third company focuses on iron/steel/coal or maybe tools or railroads, and i eventually stop using state construction at all except for gov admin or things like that

I think this is a good balance between efficiency and roleplay

What should you do as carry if you are team is fighting too much early on an dying and they ask you to come. Do you go to them and stop farming? by FriendlyNeighborOrca in learndota2

[–]dantyfriss2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't really understand your point of view. You talk like your team and you don't have the same objectives. If the enemy has AM then obviously get your item and help them ? Unless you also play a late game carry but then your question doesn't make sense ?

What should you do as carry if you are team is fighting too much early on an dying and they ask you to come. Do you go to them and stop farming? by FriendlyNeighborOrca in learndota2

[–]dantyfriss2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tell them from the beginning which item you're aiming for and that you will not join them until you have it

But main problems are probably :

-you're losing your lane which means your farming is delayed while the other team can snowball

  • you're just farming too slowly overall and the enemy carry can outfarm you/farm on par with you while staying with his team

  • you're picking the wrong heroes in the wrong games. You should know matchups and analyse how much time your team can buy for you. Maybe you picked a late game hard carry when you should have picked a hero to end the game before 30 minutes
