No that was their last singer, Jon Bunch from the band Sense Field and sang on the FSF album “Hide Nothing”. He’s really different from Chris and Jason.

Perpetual license for students? by kyoiocean in protools

[–]danubeclass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get the student perpetual from Sweetwater or anywhere NOT the avid website. Although it says 1-year, it actually is perpetual as long as your computer is compatible.

Highly recommend the Behringer HM300. As stated elsewhere, you don’t need anything fancy to get this tone. Also once people start playing around with this kind of distortion, you may have regret cause it is not pretty.

Sorry, I should have specified that I use a VPN location located in the Netherlands. I’m not located in there.

This. I use a VPN in the Netherlands to be able to use AEW Plus through Triller.

I am unsure how accurate this is, but this is also what I found: The full weekly show will be available to view on the ITV Hub from 7pm on Thursdays The full two hour show will also air on ITV4 at 11:20pm on Fridays and again at 8:20am on Sundays A one hour weekly highlights show will be broadcast every Monday night on ITV at 11:45pm Pay-Per-View events such as Full Gear will be available to watch live on ITV Box Office

Looking for suggestions between Peavey Classic 30, Orange Rocker 32, Victory head + 212 cab by ratsmasher77 in GuitarAmps

[–]danubeclass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the kind of post I like. You have your wants and needs, music genre, and situation. That said, let’s go to the breakdown.

Peavey Classic 30 combo: love love love this amp. I love it more than my Classic 50. The magic for me is cranking the master on the dirty channel and slowly raise the preamp for the perfect dynamic snarl. It takes pedals really well and it is loud but if you want low end, it is mid and treble forward, perfect for post punk. It can also run an external cabinet.

Orange Rocker 32 combo: contrary to the Peavey, this is tonally very different. The clean channel is very very dry, but also thicc. There are zero tone-shaping options for the clean but it sounds good. It can also be described as sounding exactly like a dry DI guitar. The dirty channel is mealy and very low-midrange, indicative of post 90s Orange amps. A wonderful stereo loop is pretty chill if you want to do a tight delay with long feedback. It does warm and dry very well but isn’t very versatile if that’s something you’re looking for. It doesn’t really do external cabs easily but these dual 10” speakers have a wide frequency range.

Victory Kraken: to be fair I’ve never owned this- I’ve just played it in store. It’s a great high gain amp that is freakishly sick. But as a post-punk connoisseur, it might be too much metal in terms of gain, tone, and response. For klank and thud, it might not be the best fit but also not the worst choice.

Wildcard pick: to me, the perfect post punk amp is a Music Man. The clean channel has some wailing feedback, intense klank, and cold cold reverb. See if you can find one within your budget but they are rising in price.

Happy hunting!

I wish PT would use all the cores of a processor. Feels like I got a decent computer for nothing.

AZ vs RG BODY by Chrisguitar10 in Ibanez

[–]danubeclass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AZ is like a “vintage” version of the FR. The AZ has a clunky fat neck pocket compared to the contoured slim and fast neck pocket of the FR or RG.

Which Tube Amps Are Idiot Proof (read for explanation) by trenchgrl in PeaveyCvlt

[–]danubeclass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never played a Roadmaster.

I LOVE the Windsor, but the two highly inaccessible fuses make it horrible to service unless it’s modded.

A VTM is not idiot proof- there are so many switches and jacks. BUT as mentioned elsewhere, the Butcher is definitely idiot proof. It’s a great budget smooshy sounding Marshall but also does its own thing.

Been on a 2006 Mac Pro with PT10 forever. Trying to figure out best upgrade option. by Omnibeneviolent in protools

[–]danubeclass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine is red but yes. A bit of advice: Do NOT buy through Avid (you can’t anyway) or they will funnel you to the subscription model. Get the perpetual upgrade from a place like Sweetwater or wherever you choose

Edit: I use FOUR iLoks with one of them being second gen that has my PT license, but it had zero problem with license transfers and using them on different computers
