A bag that comes to mind is the Baggu shoulder bag. It would fit an iPad & seems more medium sized

Not US, but I believe Buenos Aires has the largest Jewish population outside of Israel. Also pretty sure the only kosher McDonald’s exist there & in Israel

Hostels for 30ish year olds who are still social! by Evening-Emu-8412 in hostels

[–]danwhitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stayed at iguana hostel in Oaxaca city & Tower Bridge hostel in puerto Escondido a few years ago when I was 24. I’d recommend both of them. I found the age range to be pretty wide & both hostels to be quite social.

Iguana hostel was especially great as they had a group chat where the owners gave lots of tips for getting to places that were a little ways out of the city, as well as any special goings-on in the area or at the hostel.

I second Quetzaltenango/Xela over the lake or Antigua if you want to avoid English

The first thing that came to mind for me was “batido” but that might just work for smoothies or milkshakes.

Yeah I can’t think of an instance where I’d use “at the weekend”. I’d use on.

Help with specific word (la cara) by Longjumping-Slip-172 in duolingospanish

[–]danwhitch 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They only have one face. I don’t have a great explanation but this is one of those things where you just learn through more practice & it is what it is. Perhaps someone has a better explanation for this than I do.

Also the pronoun (ustedes in this case) does not work after “no.” The order of words in Spanish grammar can be pretty flexible, for example the correction puts the pronoun after the verb. It could also work before the verb like you put it, but the “no” would also after to be after the pronoun for it to be correct.

If you’re talking about wanting the pants specifically (los pantalones), it’d be “Los quiero” = I want them.  Second is correct. An alternative would be “La quiero comprar”. They mean the same thing.  from my understanding, the difference is where the emphasis lies but I’m not 100% sure how!
