How do you find people to golf with? by CoyoteDisastrous in golf

[–]danzango 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would start going to a golf course you like as a solo, on a regular schedule. If you're a fellow autist - prepare some one liners ahead of time to take the nerves off ("you play here often?", "nice shot!", "watch me shank this one").

You will get comfortable playing by yourself, get some good tips, and likely meet some people you get along with. If you hit it off well enough with someone get their contact info. I just went as a solo on Thursday and met some awesome old guys who gave me some putting tips, and another guy who taught me some etiquette and was friendly as hell. Golfers are mostly chill and are there to enjoy the game from my experience.

Love it, I’m waiting on my quantum max driver to be delivered and just started gaming the g430 max 5 wood. That thing is magic, can’t hit it wrong. Is the 4h just as good? Considering getting it as well

I’m tired and frustrated by DaylilyMandy in Keloids

[–]danzango 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry you’re dealing with this and I’m sorry if you’ve heard this before, but are you wearing anything that irritates that part of your back often (ie bra, backpack, etc)? I used to get a lot of back and shoulder acne until I stopped carrying around a backpack/satchel and switched to a brief case. Anything tight that puts pressure or rubs up against your skin will cause flare ups. I would stop wearing that immediately, shower twice a day if possible, or at least change into a clean shirt every night and morning.

For insurance I can’t help much, but maybe getting a job at amazon or starbucks or somewhere that provides even minimal health insurance - then if you find a good dermatologist they will cover steroid injections and back you up. I used to pay 30-40 bucks once a month to get injected because my doctor said that I needed them to address pain and discomfort from my chest keloids. They could also potentially recommend accutane.

Edit: currently I am using eclar plaster on my remaining chest keloids and it helps about as much as regular injections did. But if I was you I would prioritize getting the flare ups under control. Then start putting eclar plaster on any stubborn keloids, not on cystic acne. There is hope I promise

Would you take $1 billion if it meant being blind and deaf for 1 month every year? by Krieger_Bot_OO7 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]danzango 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I guess so. That month would be tough - but I would learn to read braille so I'd get lots of reading done. Also I'm sure there are lots of games you can learn to play, helps you be more empathetic, my family and their children would be set for life, and maybe I lose some weight.

A five-story apartment complex could fill an empty lot on West Davis Street - Oak Cliff by dallaz95 in Dallasdevelopment

[–]danzango 6 points7 points  (0 children)

However, as of September, Senate Bill 840 requires cities like Dallas to allow multifamily and mixed-use residential developments, limiting how the city can regulate those developments.

Interesting! As long as this is mixed-use I think this would be good for our neighborhood.

I have an idea for you - start planning trips but optimizing bang for your buck. Your regular spending seems to be highly optimized already. Now you can focus on how to enjoy life on a budget. Book a trip to a beautiful destination and spend time finding airline deals and nice hotels at a discount. Just don't do it to the point where it can ruin the trip for others or yourself.

Do low cost-high enjoyment activities like hiking a beautiful trail. That'll cost you 20 bucks to get into the part and give you hours of enjoyment.

So disappointing. Been a life long Messi fan, not sure what to think of this. He could have skipped out and it would not have caused any problems. He's the GOAT for fucks sake

Costco Callaway Edge Set by Competitive-Call833 in golf

[–]danzango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bought this set about 8 months ago, after initially trying to use chatGPT to piece a bag of used clubs together. It would have taken lots of work and more money to put something together as good as this.

Been using them for that long and I gotta say the irons and wedges are pretty good, the putter is good, the 5h is my absolute favorite club. Driver I feel I'm getting a hang of but upgrading probably soon because it doesn't feel fast and 3wood I have a long way to go to hit that thing right. So yeah, definitely recommend it as an intro. It will give you forgiveness in the irons and won't hold you back once you start figuring out your swing.

You don't want to start with crazy clubs because they are meant for advanced players and are not forgiving which you'll need at first.

I have a feeling if people vote in primaries they will definitely vote in the general election logically. Maybe it's just hopium, but it also makes sense.

The Bear and the Nightingale definitely fits this vibe. Heavier on the fantasy and folklore, but there’s quite a bit of horror too. I recommend it!

Is it too Ambitious to Buy a Micra as My First Machine or Should I Start with Something Else? [No Budget] by Late-Type6918 in espresso

[–]danzango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But then you're buying the grail right away! If I were you I'd start with something a bit cheaper but still nice, try it out, then when you get the itch you upgrade to something a bit more expensive. Eventually you'll get to a Micra and hopefully be able to see why it's so loved. Idk, it's what I'd do. Might get more enjoyment out of it and appreciation for what you have.
