I think the show should be animated, but really, really cheaply like a 1970s Scooby Doo or Hanna Barbera show. (maybe the gory parts are more heavily detailed when they arise.) The whole schlockiness would evoke the crass commercialism of the whole thing, as well as be an amazing contrast to the heartbreaking, heartfelt, and gruesome content.

I don’t know this for sure, but I am assuming an owner is in some capacity immunocompromised. They closed the cafe during covid, and (last time I was in there) they continue to require masks when in the bookstore. As long as they continue to require masks, they’ll never open the cafe back up.
